What is the STURDY Act for Furniture Tip Over Prevention?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The STURDY Act stands for S<\/strong>top T<\/strong>ip-overs of U<\/strong>nstable, R<\/strong>isky D<\/strong>ressers on Y<\/strong>outh Act and was passed by Congress and signed into law December 2022. The act provides for a standard for dressers and other storage furniture that will provide furniture tip over prevention by requiring strong and practical stability tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The act seeks to prevent child deaths from falling furniture. Since 2000, more than 470 children have tragically died from furniture tip-overs…many of whom were less than 6 years of age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
