Hickory Hardware American Diner pull is a 5-1/16 inch (128 mm) center to center handle that provides a defined grip span for cabinet doors and drawers, which helps installers line up drilling and layout on face frames or slab fronts. This pull comes from the American Diner era design, so it delivers a classic 50s vibe that blends into transitional projects where clients want a nod to vintage without going fully traditional. The handle is finished in matte black, giving a dark, uniform appearance that reads clean against light or stained fronts and supports consistent visual lines across a run of cabinets. With a manufacturer part number P2149-MB, the piece ties back directly to Belwith Keeler documentation, which helps when matching existing hardware or planning repeat orders for multi-room work.
The 128 mm (5-1/16 inch) center to center measurement on this pull sets precise hole spacing for installation, which simplifies layout when using templates and reduces chance of misaligned handles across multiple doors. At 6-1/8 inch overall length, the pull extends past the mounting points, giving room to land the handle clear of panel edges or decorative profiles. The 1-1/16 inch projection places the gripping surface forward from the cabinet face, which helps hands clear adjacent trim or neighboring doors. With a 7/8 inch width, the pull presents a defined mounting footprint on the door or drawer front that supports firm seating against flat surfaces.
The American Diner era pull is described as giving any room a classic 50s vibe, which suits kitchen or bath projects where clients want that period reference blended with modern finishes. The transitional style of this handle lets it sit between traditional and contemporary, so it works on shaker fronts, simple slab doors, or mildly profiled doors without competing with the door design. As a cabinet pull in matte black, it can serve on both wall and base cabinets, tying together kitchen runs and matching on bath vanities where a consistent hardware story is needed. The decorative hardware category placement signals that this pull is intended for visible cabinet faces, supporting roles on doors and drawers rather than hidden functional hardware.
The 5-1/16 inch (128 mm) center to center size on the P2149-MB matte black pull matches a common metric spacing, which is useful when laying out banks of drawers that need repeated, predictable hole locations. That center spacing combined with a 6-1/8 inch overall length means the handle slightly overhangs the mounting spread, giving a proportion that looks balanced on medium-width fronts and helps line up hardware visually across multiple units. A projection of 1-1/16 inch sets the stand-off from the door face, which can reduce knuckle contact with the cabinet and keep fingerprints away from the panel surface. The 7/8 inch width gives the pull a defined face, which helps it read correctly when aligned with rail heights or centered on narrow drawers, supporting straight sightlines across custom or modular cabinetry.
