Adjustable wall bed mechanism kit twin describes a Create A Bed hardware system designed for a horizontal-opening twin size wall bed, so installers can plan a concealed sleeping solution around a defined mechanism and mattress specification. The patented adjustable mechanism allows effortless lifting and lowering of the bed platform, which reduces physical strain when operating the bed in tight rooms or multi-use spaces. This kit is designed for a twin sized bed, aligning the hardware function with standard twin mattresses for predictable fit. Highest quality gas pistons provide smooth, safe, quiet and long lasting operation, helping the bed move in a controlled way that supports everyday residential use. The mechanism offers a horizontal opening layout, which keeps the bed projecting out 46 inches when down, so planners can coordinate floor clearance with other built-ins or furniture.
The finished horizontal cabinet dimensions for a twin layout are 47-3/8 inches high, 81 inches wide, and 15-7/8 inches deep, giving installers fixed outer case measurements for room and wall planning. The bed projects 46 inches when down, so that dimension defines clearance in front of the cabinet for doors, circulation paths, or other furniture. Recommended mattress size for this twin system is 39 inches by 75 inches, aligning the mattress footprint with the platform design controlled by the mechanism. Maximum mattress thickness, including pillow top, is 12 inches, which sets the limit for mattress selection so the bed can fold into the 15-7/8 inch deep cabinet without compression issues against the interior. These defined dimensions help woodworkers design casework and framing that works with the hardware movement.
This Create A Bed adjustable wall bed mechanism kit is designed for a horizontal-opening twin size bed, so it fits projects where wall width is available but ceiling height is limited. The finished horizontal cabinet height of 47-3/8 inches creates a low-profile installation along a wall, which can work beneath windows or in rooms with sloped ceilings. The 81 inch cabinet width matches the horizontal mattress orientation, helping designers place the unit on longer walls in narrow guest rooms or studio spaces. With a cabinet depth of 15-7/8 inches, the closed bed projects similarly to many standard built-ins, letting the unit visually align with adjacent casework runs. The 46 inch projection when the bed is down defines the sleeping footprint into the room, guiding layout around doors, desks, or wardrobes nearby.
The patented adjustable mechanism allows effortless lifting and lowering, which matters on site because installers can set operation so the bed moves smoothly for the expected user without feeling either too heavy or too strong on the return. Highest quality gas pistons provide smooth, safe, quiet and long lasting operation, helping the platform travel in a controlled arc that reduces abrupt stops and noise against the cabinet. Recommended mattress weight for the twin configuration is 30 pounds to 50 pounds, keeping the system balanced so the pistons and mechanism work within their intended range. When mattress weight sits in that range, the lift effort and closing speed stay closer to the performance band the designer expected. The recommended mattress size of 39 inches by 75 inches and maximum 12 inch thickness, including pillow top, keep the load inside the cabinet envelope, supporting consistent clearances for front trim, face panels, and surrounding millwork. A limited lifetime warranty on mechanism components supports long-term use of the moving parts, which is relevant for built-in projects expected to remain in place for many years.
This Create A Bed adjustable wall bed mechanism kit is designed for a twin sized bed, so it is intended to work with a standard twin mattress layout.
The mechanism creates a horizontal opening with a cabinet 81 inches wide and 47-3/8 inches high, projecting 46 inches when down, which defines wall span and floor clearance needs.
The mechanism is specified for a 39 inch by 75 inch twin mattress with a maximum 12 inch thickness, including pillow top, so the folded bed fits within the 15-7/8 inch deep cabinet.
The recommended mattress weight for this twin wall bed system is 30 pounds to 50 pounds, which keeps the lift and lowering action within the intended performance range.
The patented adjustable mechanism and highest quality gas pistons provide effortless, smooth, safe, quiet lifting and lowering, which supports controlled, everyday use of the bed platform.
This Create A Bed wall bed mechanism has a limited lifetime warranty on mechanism components, supporting long-term performance expectations for the moving hardware.
This Create A Bed adjustable wall bed mechanism kit for a horizontal-opening twin size bed combines a patented adjustable mechanism, highest quality gas pistons, and defined cabinet dimensions, giving builders a clear framework for casework design. With specified mattress size, thickness, and recommended 30 pound to 50 pound mattress weight, the system sets expectations for load and movement so the bed operates smoothly in daily use. When a project calls for a low-height, horizontal twin wall bed built around known measurements, this mechanism kit provides the functional core for planning and fabrication.
