The Bainbridge 3694 is a 1-1/4 inch nylon spacer that creates a precise, consistent standoff between a side-mount drawer slide and the cabinet wall. It is built for installations where the slide needs to project away from the cabinet side — most often in face-frame construction or wherever the slide mounting surface is recessed or uneven relative to the ideal slide position.
The 1-1/4 inch thickness is the right choice when the gap between the slide mounting surface and the target slide position is too large for a single thin spacer to fill cleanly. In face-frame cabinet work, the cabinet side sits back from the face frame, and the slide must be brought forward to align properly with the drawer box. A 1-1/4 inch offset covers that distance in one piece rather than stacking multiple thinner spacers. The same situation comes up on panel-built cabinets with internal blocking, on converted furniture, and anywhere a slide must clear a structural element inside the case.
At 500 pieces per box, this spacer is a production item. It fits naturally into shops that standardize on one face-frame depth across a product line and want every installer reaching into the same box for the same part rather than measuring and cutting shims on the floor.
Nylon (polyamide) is the standard material for precision cabinet spacers because it machines and molds to tight tolerances, does not absorb enough moisture to change dimension meaningfully in a conditioned interior, and does not corrode when in contact with zinc-plated slide hardware. The screw-on design means the spacer is captured between the slide and the cabinet wall with no separate adhesive or clip needed — the slide's own mounting screw does the work.
Cabinet shops running face-frame lines with a consistent stile depth tend to keep this size in stock when the geometry calls for it. Installers retrofitting slides into existing furniture or older casework with non-standard interior dimensions also find a thicker spacer handles the job in a single step. If the offset in your application is closer to 1 inch, the Bainbridge 3693 covers that size. For smaller adjustments — 1/16 inch or 1/2 inch — lighter spacers in this same family work without excess standoff.
The spacer is not handed. Use the same part on the left and right cabinet members — no separate left or right version to track.
Stacking spacers is physically possible but not recommended. A tall stack reduces the bite of the mounting screw and can shift under load. If you need more than 1-1/4 inches of offset, look for a blocking solution attached directly to the cabinet side before mounting the slide.
The spacer is designed to be captured by the slide's own mounting screw. Use the screw specified by the slide manufacturer for the slide series you are installing. The nylon will not strip or crack under a standard cabinet screw.
The 3694 is a generic standoff spacer, not engineered to a specific slide brand or series. It works with any screw-on side-mount slide where a 1-1/4 inch offset is needed between the mounting surface and the slide body.
When every drawer in a run needs the same standoff, a molded nylon spacer at a known thickness is the most reliable way to get it — no measuring, no cutting, and nothing that shifts once the screw is driven home.
