This is a 20 inch full-extension side-mount ball bearing drawer slide from Fulterer's soft-close line, rated 100 lb per pair and finished in zinc. An integrated damper catches the drawer in the last inch of travel and settles it shut quietly, turning a standard utility drawer into one that closes with no slam and no follow-up push.
Kitchen drawers loaded with pots, pans, or utensils can take a beating from daily hard closes. A damped close removes that impact from every cycle, protecting the drawer front, the box joints, and the face frame over years of use. The same logic applies to a bath vanity, a bedroom dresser, or a shop cabinet where noise matters. Because the 20 inch slide is full extension, the drawer does not need an extra tug at the back — everything comes out to the face at once, and the damper handles the return without any help from the user.
The slide is cold-formed steel with a zinc electroplate finish. Zinc is the working standard for side-mount ball bearing slides installed indoors: it resists the humidity and minor moisture exposure that comes with kitchen and bath environments without requiring any maintenance. The finish is functional rather than decorative — the slide sits beside the open drawer box, mostly out of sight in use. This is an indoor finish; it is not rated for wet, washdown, or exterior applications.
The 20 inch length suits a drawer box built to approximately 20 inches in depth, installed in a cabinet with enough interior depth to accommodate the slide and its rear clearance. Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening to leave the required 1/2 inch of side clearance for each slide. The slide is non-handed, so one pair covers the drawer without any left-right distinction. In face-frame cabinets, the back end of the slide needs rear support — add the appropriate rear mounting brackets, sold separately, to complete the installation. This slide is the right choice for residential kitchen and bath drawers, furniture work, and any utility cabinet where damped closing is the upgrade the job calls for.
True soft-close. An integrated damper slows the drawer through the last inch of travel and settles it shut silently. A self-closing spring pulls the drawer shut but does not slow it — the two are different mechanisms, and this slide uses the damped version.
Slide length and drawer travel are two separate specs. Because this is a full-extension slide, the drawer member travels approximately the full slide length — but the 20 inch figure refers to the closed length of the slide, not a guaranteed travel distance. Measure the cabinet's interior depth first and match the slide length to the drawer box depth.
No. The slide is non-handed, so both slides in a pair are identical and fit either side of the drawer without modification.
Build the drawer box 1/2 inch narrower on each side than the cabinet interior — 1 inch total — to give each slide its required 1/2 inch of clearance.
Yes, but the back end of the slide needs rear support in face-frame construction. Add series-matched rear mounting brackets, sold separately, to carry the slide properly. The brackets are not universal — confirm compatibility with this Fulterer series before ordering.
The zinc soft-close ball bearing slide brings damped, full-extension performance to side-mount installations where clean function and indoor durability matter more than concealed hardware — one pair, one drawer, no slam.
