bottom guide channel 8 ft from Hettich America Corporation is a floor mount extruded aluminum guide channel designed as part of bi-fold door hardware components for 3/4 inch thick doors, giving the bottom of the door a defined running path for controlled movement. The 8 foot length provides a continuous channel that supports longer openings without joints, which helps keep the door travel smooth along the entire span. The floor mount design positions the guiding function at the bottom edge of the door, which is especially useful where overhead space is constrained by other hardware. Because this guide channel is part of Hettich bi-fold door hardware, it matches the intended bi-fold application, so the channel geometry is set up for that style of guide. The bottom guide channel 8 ft format supports layout of multiple bi-fold panels in a straight run where a single continuous guide is preferred.
The aluminum guide channel floor mount interface relies on #6 flat head screws, so the channel seats tight to the floor while the screw heads sit below the running surface, preserving a clear path for the guide element over the full 8 foot length. The extruded aluminum body keeps the profile uniform, which simplifies aligning the channel straight along the intended door travel line. Because the channel is specified for 3/4 inch thick doors in bi-fold applications, installers can plan the bottom gap and door overhang around that known relationship between the door thickness and the channel position. Using the full 8 foot section in one piece supports layouts where maintaining consistent guide geometry from jamb to jamb matters for repeatable folding and stacking of the doors.
This Hettich bi-fold door hardware component is defined as a bottom guide channel 8 ft for 3/4 inch thick doors, so it fits best in bi-fold door runs where that door thickness is standard and a continuous floor-mounted guiding surface is needed. The guide channel belongs to the builders hardware and bi-fold door hardware class, which situates it in jobs such as closet or passage openings that rely on hardware-driven door movement. Because the channel is an extruded aluminum guide channel floor mount style, it is particularly suited to openings where the finished floor can accept a mechanically fixed track that defines the swing and fold path of the door panels from below.
The 8 foot length of the bi-fold door bottom guide channel limits the number of joints along the floor line, which matters when guiding a series of hinged leaves that depend on consistent resistance as they fold. The extruded aluminum construction holds a stable cross-section, so the guide interface that engages the door hardware sees a repeatable surface from one end of the channel to the other. The floor mount configuration keeps the guiding function anchored at the same plane as the walking surface, which can simplify threshold detailing compared to suspended-only systems. Because this component is explicitly part of bi-fold door hardware components for 3/4 inch thick doors, the relationship between door thickness, hinge geometry, and guide location is built into its role, which supports predictable clearances and smoother folding action when the complementary parts follow the same system.
The bottom guide channel 8 ft is defined for bi-fold door hardware components for 3/4 inch thick doors, so it serves as the guided floor track in that door thickness range.
The aluminum guide channel floor mount style uses recommended fasteners of #6 flat head screws, so it is mechanically fixed to the floor with countersunk screw heads below the running surface.
The Hettich 50145 guide channel length of 8 feet offers a continuous guiding surface across wider openings, which supports smoother travel of the bi-fold bottom guide along the span.
This bi-fold door bottom guide channel defines the floor-level path for the door's bottom guiding element, helping coordinate motion with the rest of the bi-fold door hardware components.
The channel is specified for 3/4 inch thick doors so its geometry and position align with bi-fold door hardware designed around that common door thickness.
The extruded aluminum construction yields a consistent channel shape along the 8 foot length, supporting uniform contact for the guiding component across the entire run.
Choosing the bottom guide channel 8 ft from Hettich America Corporation aligns the floor-mounted guiding function with a bi-fold door hardware component specifically described for 3/4 inch thick doors. The extruded aluminum guide channel floor mount design and 8 foot continuous length support layouts where a stable, straight running path is important to how the doors open and fold. The recommended #6 flat head screws give a fastening pattern that keeps the track profile clear for the moving guide. For bi-fold door setups that match these characteristics, this 50145 bottom guide channel can serve as the defined bottom track element in the overall hardware plan.
