Solid surface fabrication relies on precise bevel cuts at the sink cutout, at seams, and along finished edges where two panels will be bonded together. The 24-degree angle on this bit is the profile matched to that bonding geometry, giving the joined edges maximum surface contact and a flush face when the seam is finished. Countertop fabricators use this profile for sink-drop cutouts and apron-front transitions where a square edge would leave too little glue surface.
Solid surface is an acrylic-and-mineral composite that demands consistent chip load to avoid heat buildup and surface crazing. The two-flute design moves material at a rate that keeps the edge crisp without overloading the bit or scorching the workpiece.
