The Tenn-Tex C-283 is a left-hand, rear-mount adjustable undermount bracket designed for face-frame and frameless cabinet installations that use dowel-mounted undermount slides. With an 11mm vertical adjustment range and a 39mm mounting dimension, it positions the rear of the slide at the correct height and holds it there, giving the drawer box a solid, level bearing point from front to back. Sold in a box of 400, it is sized for cabinet shops running undermount drawers at production volume.
Undermount slides need support at both ends. The front locking device handles the drawer front; the rear mounting bracket handles the back of the slide inside the cabinet. In face-frame construction, the cabinet side is set back from the frame opening, which means the rear of the slide cannot simply screw to the side panel at the right height without additional hardware. This bracket closes that gap, anchoring the slide's rear end at a fixed, adjustable position so the drawer box sits level and the front aligns cleanly. It also applies to frameless work where a dowel-located rear support is part of the specified installation method. The 11mm adjustment range gives enough travel to true up the rear height after the cabinet is assembled, which is far more practical than shimming or re-boring.
The C-283 attaches via a 10mm dowel that presses into a bored hole at the rear of the cabinet side. Dowel mounting is common in CNC-processed cabinet boxes where hole patterns are laid out to the manufacturer's template — the dowel drops into position without screw fasteners at the bracket itself, speeding up installation on repeat layouts. The bracket is a Tenn-Tex Plastics component, consistent with the molded plastic construction found throughout the Tenn-Tex undermount accessory line. Because the bracket carries the rear of the slide and the load it bears, it is part of the load path; the working capacity of the installed drawer is set by the weakest component in the stack, not the slide alone.
Cabinet shops doing undermount drawer installations on CNC-bored boxes are the primary buyer. One box contains 400 left-hand C-283 brackets. The right-hand version is the C-283-01, sold separately. You need one of each orientation per drawer — order both SKUs to complete a full run.
