Amerock Thoreau backplate is a square decorative backplate that sits behind a knob or pull to visually anchor it on the door or drawer front, which helps give hardware installations a finished, intentional look across a run of cabinetry. The Amerock Thoreau Series design identifies this part as part of Amerock decorative hardware, so it works wherever the same design language is used on cabinets or furniture. The 1-9/16 inch length and 1-9/16 inch width form a compact square footprint that covers the immediate contact area around the knob or pull while still leaving surrounding material visible. The Golden Champagne finish ties directly to the Amerock Thoreau Series aesthetic, so the backplate color aligns with that finish choice and supports consistent appearance from piece to piece.
The 1-9/16 inch by 1-9/16 inch dimensions give a clear sense of the backplate coverage area around the knob or pull, which helps during layout when spacing hardware on doors or drawers. Because the part is described simply as a backplate, it is intended to sit between the decorative hardware and the cabinet surface, which defines its role in the overall installation stack. The square profile created by matching length and width simplifies alignment to door and drawer edges, since the sides stay parallel to the cabinet geometry. The Golden Champagne description ties the finish to that specific color family, which matters when coordinating this backplate with other Golden Champagne decorative hardware in the same field of view.
The Amerock Thoreau Series identity positions this backplate for use anywhere Amerock Thoreau decorative hardware is specified, which is useful when continuing a consistent style from one bank of cabinets to another. Its 1-9/16 inch square size keeps the footprint compact, which suits cabinet doors and drawers where available face area is limited but a defined visual base under the knob or pull is desired. The Golden Champagne finish matches that named finish family, which helps it sit comfortably alongside Golden Champagne knobs, pulls, and other decorative hardware in the same space. Because it is categorized under Decorative Hardware & Moldings as a backplate, it is oriented toward visible cabinet faces where aesthetics are as important as functional mounting.
The square 1-9/16 inch by 1-9/16 inch geometry provides equal extension in both directions from the hardware centerline, which simplifies repeatable positioning across multiple doors and drawers. The defined dimensions give installers a fixed reference when planning reveals between hardware and adjacent edges, which helps maintain straight sight lines across long cabinet runs. The Amerock Thoreau Series labeling connects this backplate to a specific Amerock product class, which aids in pairing it with other Thoreau items when consistent detailing is needed from job to job. The Golden Champagne finish description provides a precise color callout, which supports predictable coordination with other hardware choices specified in the same finish.
The Amerock Thoreau Series backplate measures 1-9/16 inches long by 1-9/16 inches wide, giving a compact square footprint that frames the knob or pull without overwhelming smaller cabinet fronts.
