Amerock Thoreau backplate is a decorative backplate from the Amerock Thoreau Series in oil-rubbed bronze, so it adds a defined trim detail wherever Amerock backplates are specified. This backplate is identified as a backplate in the Decorative Hardware & Moldings category, which positions it for use behind cabinet hardware where a finished look is required. The 3-3/4 inch center-to-center dimension is also described as 96mm CC, which aligns with common pull spacing on many cabinet layouts. The oil-rubbed bronze finish ties into the color standards of the Amerock Corporation Thoreau Series, which matters when matching existing Amerock Thoreau components across a project. The product is further designated under Backplates, Amerock, which keeps it consistent with Amerock-brand decorative hardware families.
The stated 3-3/4 inch center-to-center dimension defines the distance this Amerock Thoreau Series backplate is designed to match, which matters when positioning it with hardware that uses 3-3/4 inch hole spacing across cabinet fronts. The same dimension is also described as 96mm CC, which connects the product directly to metric layout practices on cabinetry using 96mm spacing. The Amerock Thoreau Series labeling ties this sizing to a repeatable Amerock pattern, which matters when repeating the same center-to-center layout across multiple cabinets within the same job.
This Amerock Thoreau Series backplate is identified under Decorative Hardware & Moldings, which situates it for visual trim work around cabinet hardware rather than structural fastening. The backplate classification signals that it is intended to sit between visible decorative hardware and the cabinet surface, which matters on doors and drawers where a framed or stepped appearance around the pull location is desired. The 3-3/4 inch center-to-center dimension, also listed as 96mm CC, defines the spacing this piece is built around, which fits cabinet layouts that already use or are planned for 3-3/4 inch or 96mm pull centers. Because the brand is Amerock Corporation within the Thoreau Series, the styling and sizing are oriented to coordinate with other Amerock Thoreau components, which matters on projects that standardize around a single Amerock series for continuity.
The 3-3/4 inch center-to-center (96mm CC) measurement on this backplate defines a fixed relationship between the mounting points, which supports consistent alignment wherever repeated pulls share the same dimension across a run of cabinetry. That center-to-center value, expressed in both inches and millimeters, also supports work that references either imperial or metric layouts, which matters when drawings or shop notes specify 96mm spacing by default. The Amerock Thoreau Series identification means this spacing matches an Amerock design family, which supports repeat use of the same backplate and pull combination across kitchens, baths, or casework tied to that series. The oil-rubbed bronze description defines the finish appearance within this layout, which matters when the visual rhythm of pulls and backplates needs to stay uniform from cabinet to cabinet.
