Amerock Thoreau backplate is a decorative backplate from the Amerock Thoreau Series designed for use with cabinet hardware. This backplate sits behind a pull to visually frame the pull location, which helps create a defined hardware line across doors and drawers. The 8-13/16 inch center-to-center length provides a long visual footprint, so the hardware stands out consistently on wider drawer fronts or paired doors. The 224mm CC dimension gives a clear reference for matching with pulls that share the same center-to-center, supporting straightforward layout and drilling work. The satin nickel finish delivers a muted metallic look, which supports a uniform appearance when used alongside other satin nickel decorative hardware in the same project. As part of Amerock decorative hardware and moldings, this backplate coordinates with other Amerock cabinet hardware selections on a job.
The Amerock Thoreau backplate uses an 8-13/16 inch, or 224mm, center-to-center layout, so it aligns with cabinet pulls designed around the same hole spacing. This direct match between the backplate and pull center-to-center supports efficient installation when drilling for both parts in one operation. Because the product is described as a backplate, it is intended to sit between the cabinet face and the pull, which creates a stable visual base underneath the pull across the mounting span. The satin nickel finish ties into satin nickel pulls that share the same spacing, which helps keep both finish and hole layout consistent from one cabinet front to the next.
The Amerock Thoreau Series, Backplate 8-13/16 inch CC Satin Nickel fits cabinet and furniture applications where a defined hardware footprint is desired behind a pull. The 224mm CC spacing works on projects that specify this exact hole distance, so the backplate can be paired with matching 224mm CC pulls for doors or drawers. As a backplate in the decorative hardware and moldings category, it is suited to face-frame or frameless cabinet fronts where a visual border under the pull supports the overall design. The satin nickel finish lets this backplate visually coordinate with satin nickel pulls and knobs, which is useful on kitchens, baths, or office casework where a single finish is carried across all exposed hardware.
The stated 8-13/16 inch center-to-center length gives installers a fixed value for layout, supporting repeatable drilling patterns from cabinet to cabinet. Using the 224mm CC dimension, fabricators working from metric plans can match this backplate to cabinet pulls specified at the same spacing, reducing translation errors between inch and metric drawings. The Amerock BP37606G10 part number ties directly to the satin nickel Thoreau backplate, which simplifies reordering the same component when additional cabinets or replacement fronts are added later. Because the product is clearly defined as a backplate, it serves as a consistent visual and dimensional interface between the cabinet surface and the selected pull, which helps maintain alignment across multiple fronts on larger installations.
