Emtek Tuscany bronze backplate for knob is a decorative backplate designed to sit behind a knob and visually frame the hardware on the door or cabinet surface. The Tuscany designation ties this piece to Emtek's Tuscany Bronze style family, so it supports a consistent traditional look across a project where that design language is specified. The 2-1/4 inch length establishes the footprint on the face of the door or drawer front, which helps define the reveal you will see around a matching knob. Being part of Emtek's knobs product class means this backplate is sized and styled for knob applications rather than lever or pull layouts, keeping proportions appropriate. The medium bronze patina finish provides a darker bronze appearance that reads as aged metal, so it blends with other medium bronze patina components in a run of decorative hardware.
This Tuscany bronze backplate for knob is intended to mount on the surface where a knob is used, so it occupies the area immediately surrounding the knob bore or mounting point. The 2-1/4 inch length gives a predictable outline relative to the knob center, which matters when spacing knobs between adjacent doors or drawers so the backplates do not visually crowd each other. Being part of Emtek's knob-focused product class keeps its scale aligned with typical knob diameters, supporting a balanced proportion between the round knob and the rectangular or shaped escutcheon form. The medium bronze patina finish allows the backplate to visually recede slightly around the knob, creating contrast that highlights the knob while still presenting a finished decorative field.
The Emtek Tuscany bronze backplate for knob is suited to installations where a knob from the same Tuscany Bronze family is specified and a defined decorative field is desired behind it. Its 2-1/4 inch length makes it practical on cabinet doors, drawers, or smaller doors where long plates could interfere with panel profiles or neighboring hardware. The decorative hardware and moldings classification aligns it with millwork and cabinetry environments, so it fits in projects where visual coordination across multiple openings matters. By matching the medium bronze patina finish, this backplate helps unify the look across other Emtek Tuscany Bronze pieces, giving a consistent tone on face frames, door rails, and drawer fronts.
The manufacturer part number 86234MB provides an exact identifier for this medium bronze patina backplate, which simplifies repeating the same component across phases of work or on later add-ons to an existing installation. Because it is specifically defined as a backplate for knob rather than a general trim plate, its proportions are tuned to typical knob dimensions, which supports cleaner sightlines and keeps the backplate from overpowering the knob head. The 2-1/4 inch length gives installers a fixed reference when laying out knob locations relative to door edges, panel profiles, or adjacent drawers so that reveals and spacing look uniform from opening to opening. The medium bronze patina finish keeps the color in line with Emtek's medium bronze patina knobs listed under the same style family, helping maintain a coherent finish schedule on woodworking and cabinetry projects handled through Wurth Baer Supply.
