This Pro Value Series molding is a standard twist split rope molding in solid poplar, supplied in a 96-inch length for use as applied decorative trim on cabinet door faces, frame fronts, and furniture panels.
Split rope molding is applied trim. The half-section profile is flat on one side so it bonds or fastens flush to a door face, a frame rail, or a panel field, and the twisted rope form on the other side reads as a full decorative rope at normal viewing distance. It is the detail that separates a plain cabinet face from a traditional or transitional elevated one, used most often on raised-panel doors, frame and panel drawer fronts, furniture-style cabinetry, and entertainment centers where a period detail is part of the design language.
At 3/4 inch wide, this profile works best where the panel field or the frame member it sits on is narrow enough that a wider molding would crowd the design.
