This Omega National Signature Series chimney is the decorative red oak extension section that bridges the top of a Signature Series wood range hood cover and the ceiling, completing the built-in look on installations where the ceiling height requires additional height above the hood body.
A wood range hood installation typically consists of more than one piece: the hood body that sits directly above the cooktop and, when the ceiling is higher than the hood body alone can fill, a chimney section that carries the vertical run up to the ceiling line. This chimney is that upper piece. It mounts to the wall above the Signature Series hood cover and closes the gap between the top of the hood and the ceiling, so the finished assembly reads as one continuous vertical element rather than leaving an open gap or requiring a field-fabricated filler.
This is a decorative wood component. It does not house a blower, duct connection, or ventilation hardware, and it carries no CFM or airflow function of its own. Ventilation is handled by the insert or power pack installed in the hood cover below it.
The chimney is built from red oak and supplied unfinished, so the finisher or installer can apply stain, paint, or another approved finish system on-site to match the hood cover and the surrounding cabinet doors. Red oak takes stain evenly and works well in kitchens where the cabinet species is also oak. Because it leaves the warehouse raw, the final color and sheen are entirely in the hands of whoever is finishing the kitchen, which makes it practical for both painted and stained installations.
This piece is specified on projects where a Signature Series hood cover is being installed and the ceiling height above the hood requires an extension section. Kitchen designers and cabinet shops building out a full hood wall with tall ceilings will use it to close the vertical run cleanly without custom millwork. Contractors doing a finish-in-place install will appreciate that the raw wood accepts the same stain schedule as the cabinetry going in around it. It is the right call when the hood cover alone does not reach the ceiling and the goal is a wood chimney in species rather than a painted or wrapped filler.
No. This is the chimney extension section only. The Signature Series wood range hood cover that mounts below it is a separate product.
No. This is a decorative wood piece with no blower or duct components. The ventilation insert is installed in the hood cover below and is a separate selection.
None. The chimney ships unfinished so it can be stained or painted on-site to match the cabinetry.
It is sized for the 42-inch Signature Series range hood cover. Match the chimney width to the hood cover width when specifying.
Specify this chimney when a Signature Series hood installation needs the vertical extension to reach the ceiling, delivered in red oak and ready to finish to the kitchen's schedule.
