U-CHANNEL, BLACK from Patwin Plastics, Inc. is a 260 black U-channel designed to finish single edges of shelves and boards, so an exposed panel edge gains a clean, defined termination instead of a raw substrate. This U-channel is manufactured from a variety of resins, which provides impact resistant edge protection where boards meet regular contact in everyday use. The 3/4 inch width is set up to trim standard shelf and board edges in that size range, giving a snug, guided fit along the length of the workpiece. Each piece is supplied in a 12 ft length, letting installers run continuous edge coverage on longer shelves without seams that interrupt the line. The U-CHANNEL, BLACK designation and 400-260-0.750-12 FOOT part number identify a consistent profile and size, so repeat orders match previous installations across multiple projects.
This Patwin Plastics 260 black U-channel uses a 3/4 inch width to match single edges of shelves and boards built from 3/4 inch stock, aligning the profile with common panel thicknesses in the shop. The U-shape configuration grips the board edge along its length, so the finished line tracks the board and keeps the visual reveal consistent from end to end. Because it is impact resistant and resin based, the molding handles routine contact along the finished edge, supporting use in areas where items are regularly placed on and off shelves. With a 12 ft length format, one piece can serve a long shelf or several shorter segments, which helps keep color and profile consistent across grouped runs in a project.
This Patwin Plastics 260 black U-channel is designed to finish single edges of shelves and boards, so it is applied wherever a lone exposed edge needs trim rather than a full perimeter wrap. In cabinet interiors, the profile can run along front shelf edges that face users, bringing the 3/4 inch width into line with typical shelf thickness for a tight, guided fit. On standalone boards, the U-channel caps one side to present a black edge, which can visually frame lighter surfaces and define the boundary of a work surface. Because the profile is manufactured from a variety of resins, it stays impact resistant while in service along those working edges, supporting applications in residential or commercial shelving where frequent handling occurs.
The impact resistant nature of this resin-manufactured U-channel means the finished edge of a shelf or board stands up to day-to-day knocks better than an unfinished substrate, which reduces visible edge damage in normal use. The 3/4 inch width streamlines selection for installers working with standard board sizes, because the molding is aligned to that common dimension instead of requiring custom fitting for each run. The 12 ft length lets fabricators cut multiple identical segments from one stick, so sets of shelves share the same edge profile, color, and orientation for a consistent, planned appearance. The U-CHANNEL, BLACK designation, paired with the 400-260-0.750-12 FOOT part number, gives shops a clear reference when reordering for repeat projects, supporting uniform results from job to job without profile mismatches.
