Belwith Keeler Cavalier Knob Backplate 2-3/8" (60mm) Diameter Antique Brass, P138-AB

Cavalier Collection Antique Brass Backplate Use

Cavalier collection antique brass backplate from Belwith Keeler gives a finished base beneath a knob or pull, so the hardware looks intentional and unified on the cabinet face. The zinc construction provides a solid decorative surface, which supports the knob contact area during everyday use. The antique brass finish delivers a classic tone, so the hardware reads as warm and traditional on doors and drawers. The 2-3/8 inch length or diameter creates a defined visual footprint, which helps the knob visually stand out on wider stiles and rails. Matching 2-3/8 inch width keeps the piece proportionally balanced, so the layout stays consistent when repeated across a run of fronts. A low 1/8 inch projection keeps the face close to the door or drawer surface, which helps maintain a clean profile around adjacent hardware and trim.

Practical Details That Support Cabinet Projects

• The Cavalier collection identity ties this backplate to a known decorative family, which simplifies coordinating knobs and pulls across kitchens, baths, or entry storage runs.
• Belwith Keeler branding anchors the part in an established hardware line, which helps match this backplate to other Belwith decorative components on the same job.
• Zinc material gives the backplate a consistent casting base, so the antique brass finish presents evenly around the full 2-3/8 inch face.
• The antique brass finish sets a warm, traditional color, which helps this part sit comfortably with similar brass-toned hinges, pulls, or door sets.
• The 2-3/8 inch length or diameter defines how much face the backplate covers, which helps plan spacing around neighboring knobs, trim, or panel details.
• The 2-3/8 inch width matches the stated length or diameter, which keeps the piece visually centered under round or similarly sized knob heads.
• The 1/8 inch projection keeps the backplate nearly flush, which reduces interference where cabinet doors or drawers pass closely to adjacent fronts.

Backplate Fit, Size, And Face Alignment

The stated 2-3/8 inch length or diameter gives a clear outer dimension, which lets you lay out hole locations and sightlines on doors and drawers before drilling. Matching 2-3/8 inch width keeps the footprint symmetrical, which simplifies aligning the knob center over the backplate center. The 1/8 inch projection means the backplate sits close to the surface, which maintains clearance where fronts meet face frames or neighboring cabinets. The antique brass finish registers visually against common cabinet colors, which helps check alignment by eye along a run of hardware. Being part of the Cavalier collection links this plate to companion pieces, which supports consistent sizing and proportions along a full installation.

Using The P138-AB Backplate In Real Projects

Where This 2-3/8 Inch Backplate Fits Best

This Belwith Keeler Cavalier series backplate sits under decorative hardware on cabinet doors, drawers, or similar faces. The 2-3/8 inch length or diameter suits medium visual fields, which works well on most residential cabinet fronts. Because width also measures 2-3/8 inch, the round footprint reads balanced beneath many standard knob heads. The antique brass finish supports traditional and classic schemes, which matches brass-toned hinges or pulls in the same space. With only 1/8 inch projection, the plate remains close to the surface, which helps on tight reveals between doors and adjacent panels. The zinc base carries the antique brass finish evenly, which keeps the appearance consistent across multiple fronts in a room.

Details That Support Consistent Hardware Results

The defined 2-3/8 inch dimension lets layouts be repeated from door to door, which supports straight sightlines and even spacing across a run of cabinets. Equal length or diameter and width mean the outer edge forms a balanced circle or near-circle, which simplifies centering a knob visually and by measurement. The shallow 1/8 inch projection minimizes step-off from the cabinet face, which keeps the knob or pull as the primary hand contact point. Being part of the Cavalier collection allows this backplate to visually relate to other pieces in that line, which supports a unified look when mixing pulls and knobs. The antique brass finish provides a single color statement on the plate face, which helps the knob finish read consistently where both are matched.
