Mission cabinetry relies on honest geometry: square frames, visible joinery references, and surfaces that do not ornament themselves beyond the structure. The chamfered corner on this column fits that logic directly. Rather than a rounded profile that softens the edge or a fully square corner that sharpens it, a chamfer cuts the corner back at a consistent angle. It reads as a deliberate detail, one that signals craftsmanship without decoration. Applied to an island end, it gives the cabinet run a vertical terminal that speaks the same visual language as the door frames and drawer fronts beside it.
At 3 inches wide and 1-1/2 inches deep, this column presents a full face width while projecting only an inch and a half from the panel it applies to.
