Being alder, identified directly in the product name, ties it to a commonly used cabinet wood species, which supports projects aiming to keep bar, island, and casework materials consistent from a single wood family on site.
The specific 9 inch dimension called out in the product name helps determine vertical spacing when repeating corbels along a bar face, reducing layout guesswork and keeping reveals consistent under the countertop edge. The unfinished wood construction noted in the web description gives finish departments full control over color and sheen, so they can process this alder piece through the same stain or paint schedule as adjacent cabinetry for a unified final result.
