This Century Components Signature Pro rotating base supplies the metal hardware for a two-shelf, full-circle lazy Susan where each shelf spins on its own, independent of the other.
A dependently rotating lazy Susan moves both shelves together as one unit. That works well when the contents on each level are always accessed at the same time. An independently rotating setup is a different tool: each shelf turns on its own bearing, so someone can spin the lower level to find a heavy pot without disturbing the spices stored above it. The Signature Pro base hardware delivers that motion at the cabinet floor, keeping the two levels functionally separate even though they share the same vertical footprint.
The base is all-metal, which keeps flex out of the rotation mechanism when shelves are loaded. At 13-1/2 inches tall, the hardware column fits the clearance that most base cabinet installations require between a floor-mounted pivot and the underside of a fixed cabinet shelf above. This SKU is the rotating mechanism only. Shelf trays are sold separately, which means the hardware can be paired with the Signature tray style and diameter that suits the cabinet opening.
Cabinet shops building out a corner base cabinet specify this hardware when the client wants independent rotation and they are sourcing the tray and base components separately to control shelf diameter or material. Designers and remodelers retrofitting an existing corner cabinet will also find it useful: replacing only the base mechanism is a more precise repair or upgrade than swapping the whole assembly. The hardware-only format also makes it straightforward to match the Signature Series trays already on hand.
With independent rotation, each shelf spins separately on its own bearing. With dependent rotation, turning one shelf turns the other. Independent rotation is useful when the two levels store different categories of items that are reached at different times.
No. This is the rotating base hardware only. Shelf trays are sold separately and should be selected to match the cabinet opening and the Signature Series hardware.
It mounts to the cabinet floor. The 13-1/2 inch height accounts for the vertical space the hardware column occupies between the cabinet floor and the shelf level above.
No. This hardware does not include a door-mount connection. It is a floor-mounted rotating base only.
Choose this Signature Pro base hardware when the corner cabinet calls for two shelves that each rotate freely, and the shelf trays are being sourced separately to fit the opening.
