A plain full-extension slide brings the drawer to the cabinet face and stops there. When a countertop overhangs the opening — or a deep face frame cuts into the access — the last few inches of the drawer are awkward to reach even at full open. The 6505's 1 inch over-travel pushes the drawer member past the nominal slide length so the rear of the drawer clears the overhang entirely. That extra inch is the practical difference between digging for a hanging file and simply pulling it out. It also benefits base cabinets with thick face frames, where a standard full-extension slide stops short of giving true front-to-back access.
The 6505 is cold-formed steel throughout, finished in zinc for indoor corrosion resistance.
