This Air-Pro BUF-04 is a ventilator power pack in a black powder coat finish, designed to install inside a compatible wood range hood shell and deliver the blower, light, and filter the shell needs to function as a working ventilation system.
A decorative wood range hood shell frames the space above the cooktop, but it does not move air on its own. This power pack is the unit that does the ventilation work. It installs into the shell and pulls smoke, steam, grease, and cooking odors up and away from the cooking surface. Two blower speeds let the output match the job: 180 CFM handles everyday low-heat cooking, and 280 CFM steps up for high-heat work on a full gas burner or induction range. The built-in halogen light adds functional illumination where it matters most, over the cooktop itself.
The black powder coat finish is a practical choice when the hood interior uses a dark liner or when the design calls for the ventilator hardware to recede visually rather than stand out. The filter is silicon-coated to reduce grease adhesion, and because it is dishwasher-safe, cleaning it is a routine maintenance step rather than a chore. The unit fits a 17-1/2 by 11-13/16 inch hole, which is the spec to confirm against the shell and liner dimensions before ordering.
The BUF-04 suits a residential kitchen where the hood shell is already selected and the cooktop runs up to 37,000 BTU. It is a strong match for kitchens with darker cabinetry or matte finishes where a black ventilator interior is more cohesive than silver or stainless. Cabinet shops and designers specifying a wood hood build will pair this unit with a compatible liner and shell; confirm the model and the hole size against the liner spec before the order is placed. For cooktops rated above 37,000 BTU, a higher-capacity ventilator is the right choice.
No. This is the ventilator power pack only. The decorative wood shell and the liner are separate products, chosen to match the kitchen design and sized to accept this unit.
The mounting hole is 17-1/2 by 11-13/16 inches. Confirm this against the liner or shell opening before ordering.
The black powder coat works well when the hood interior uses a dark liner, or when the overall kitchen design uses matte black accents and a stainless or silver unit would create a visual mismatch inside the hood.
The source data does not specify ducted or ductless configuration for this model. Confirm the duct connection details with the product spec sheet or with the supplier before installation planning.
When the design calls for a dark interior and reliable ventilation for a residential cooktop, this BUF-04 in black powder coat brings the blower, light, and washable filter together in one unit, ready to pair with the shell and liner of your choice.
