This Air-Pro BUF-04 economy ventilator power pack is the mechanical unit that gives a compatible wood hood shell its air-moving capability, delivering 280 CFM on high to clear smoke, steam, and cooking odors above the cooktop.
A decorative wood hood shell provides the look but moves no air on its own. This power pack is the unit that does the ventilation work: it installs into a compatible liner and shell, then pulls cooking byproducts up and out. Two blower speeds let the installer and homeowner dial the output to the moment, whether the cooktop is simmering a sauce or running a hard sear. At 280 CFM, this economy unit handles typical residential cooking loads on ranges up to 37,000 BTU/h. The halogen light is built in and puts task lighting directly on the cooking surface.
The Silver Metallic finish on this power pack is suited to installations where the liner, shell, or surrounding hardware carries silver tones rather than a pure stainless or a contrasting color. Matching the power pack finish to the liner and visible interior surfaces creates a cohesive look when the hood is open or the insert is visible. The dishwasher-safe filter is a practical detail: grease buildup is the standard maintenance issue with any ventilator, and a filter that can go straight into the dishwasher reduces the service burden over the life of the unit.
This power pack suits a new or replacement wood hood installation where the cooktop output falls within the residential range and the design calls for silver-toned interior hardware. Cabinet shops building custom hoods around a client's existing cooktop, designers specifying a coordinated silver finish package, and contractors sourcing a replacement unit for a compatible hood will all find the BTU and CFM figures sufficient for standard residential gas or dual-fuel cooking. For a higher-output commercial-style cooktop above 37,000 BTU/h, a higher-capacity ventilator is the appropriate choice.
No. This is the ventilator power pack only. The decorative wood shell and the liner that bridges the shell and this unit are selected and purchased separately. Confirm compatibility between the liner model and this power pack before ordering.
The unit runs at 280 CFM on high and 180 CFM on low. There is no middle speed listed for this model.
The noise rating is 7 sones at high speed, which is typical for a residential economy-class ventilator.
The unit includes integrated halogen lighting. Bulb replaceability details are not confirmed in the available source data; contact the supplier for service information if needed.
Specify this BUF-04 power pack when the project calls for a Silver Metallic finish unit, a residential cooktop up to 37,000 BTU/h, and the straightforward maintenance of a dishwasher-safe filter.
