The Knape and Vogt 8350 series is a 12 inch 3/4-extension side-mount ball bearing drawer slide rated 75 lb per pair, finished in zinc, and equipped with a hold-in anti-rebound detent that keeps the drawer shut once closed. It is a practical choice for shorter drawers in kitchen base cabinets, bathroom vanities, and utility casework where controlled travel and a stay-closed drawer are the priority.
A 12 inch slide is sized for compact drawers: the upper drawer in a two-drawer base cabinet, a spice pullout, a bathroom vanity drawer, or a shop auxiliary cabinet where interior depth is limited. The 3/4-extension travel keeps the drawer contents accessible without requiring the full cabinet depth that a three-member full-extension slide demands. The hold-in anti-rebound detent is the motion feature that sets this slide apart from a plain free-sliding design — after closing a loaded drawer firmly, the detent stops any bounce-back and holds the front flush. There is no spring and no damper; the drawer stays put until pulled.
The slide is formed from steel and carries a zinc electroplate finish. Zinc is the working standard for side-mount ball bearing slides in indoor cabinetry — it protects the steel members through years of service without adding visible bulk. The finish is functional rather than decorative, and the slide sits beside the open drawer where it is mostly out of sight. This is an indoor-rated slide; for wet or corrosive environments, a stainless option is the right call.
Cabinet shops running production on shorter base and vanity cabinets find the 8350 a dependable volume slide — the Bulk-Pack format suits shops pulling slides by the carton rather than the bag. Contractors and remodelers replacing worn slides in existing 12 inch drawer bays can drop these in without recalculating clearance, since the non-handed design and standard 1/2 inch per-side clearance match the most common installation spec. Homeowners tackling a single bathroom or kitchen drawer repair get a slide that installs without handed guesswork. In face-frame cabinets, plan for rear mounting brackets to support the back of the slide — those are sold separately and are series-specific.
Not if full rear access is required. This is a 3/4-extension slide, so the last few inches of the drawer stay inside the cabinet at full open. For complete access to the back of a 12 inch drawer, a full-extension slide is the correct choice.
The source data does not state a maximum recommended drawer width for the 8350 series. For the widest drawers in your cabinet run, confirm with the KV 8350 series specification sheet before committing to a production order.
No. The detent is not a self-close spring and not a soft-close damper. It simply holds the drawer closed once you push it shut, preventing bounce-back. You close the drawer; the detent keeps it there.
No. The 8350 is non-handed — both slides in the pair are identical, so there is nothing to sort or mismatch on installation.
Bulk-Pack means the slides ship loose in a carton rather than in individual retail bags. It is a trade-quantity format suited to shop receiving. Confirm the pack count per carton at the point of order to ensure you are receiving the quantity your project requires.
The KV 8350 series gives shorter cabinet drawers a stay-closed, ball-bearing slide in a zinc finish that fits the standard half-inch clearance and installs without handed sorting — a straightforward part that keeps production moving.
