Cherry Wood Hood Shell for a Built-In Kitchen Look

This Omega National straight accent range hood is a 30-inch wide decorative wood shell in cherry, designed to mount against the wall above a cooktop and integrate with the surrounding cabinetry for a custom, built-in appearance. A Broan-compatible silver metallic liner is included.

Key Features

• Cherry wood construction brings natural grain character that takes stain or paint to match the kitchen's existing cabinetry.
• Straight accent valance style gives the hood a clean, linear front profile suited to traditional and transitional kitchen designs.
• 30 inches wide and 30 inches tall in a wall-mount configuration with a 6-3/16-inch depth.
• Broan-compatible silver metallic liner included so the ventilation hardware has a ready housing when the unit arrives.
• Ready-to-finish and not prefinished, giving the installer full control over the final stain or paint color.
• Decorative shell only: this product is the wood enclosure, not the ventilation unit.

Where This Hood Fits in the Kitchen

An accent range hood is the visible focal point above the range, and in cherry it reads as part of the cabinetry rather than as a separate appliance. The straight valance keeps the front face clean and unadorned, which works well in kitchens where the door style and crown molding already carry the decorative load. The wall-mount position means the shell ties directly to the upper wall cabinet run or sits independently between two upper cabinets, framing the cooktop below.

Because the shell arrives unfinished, the finishing step happens on-site after installation. That means the stain can be pulled directly from the cherry cabinet doors alongside the hood, so grain tone and sheen match across the wall. Cherry is a species that darkens naturally over time with light exposure, which tends to deepen and unify the kitchen's color palette in the years after installation.

Shell, Liner, and the Ventilator

The silver metallic liner is the metal inner housing that fits inside the wood shell and seats the ventilation unit. It is included with this SKU and is compatible with Broan ventilation equipment. The ventilator itself, the blower that actually moves air, is a separate purchase and is chosen based on the cooktop's BTU output and the room's ventilation requirements. This separation is the standard approach for wood range hood installations: the shell and liner establish the look and the housing, while the ventilator is sized and specified to the job.

Who This Is For

This shell suits a cabinet shop or finish carpenter building out a kitchen where the design calls for a wood hood that matches cherry cabinetry. The straight valance and ready-to-finish surface make it straightforward to bring into an existing finishing schedule alongside doors and drawer fronts. Designers specifying a kitchen renovation will find the 30-by-30-inch footprint appropriate for a standard 30-inch range or cooktop. Homeowners working with a contractor get a hood that will look like it was built with the kitchen rather than added to it.
