Salice Series CU 2 Cam 106° Face Frame Hinge Soft-Closing 1/2" Overlay Nickel Dowel Mount CUR37D9

Salice Series CU Face Frame Hinge For 1/2 Inch Overlay

Salice Series CU face frame hinge defines this CUR37D9 concealed cabinet hinge as a face-frame solution that keeps hardware hidden when the door is closed, which matters when you want a clean cabinet look without exposed hinges on finished jobs. This 1/2 inch overlay face-frame design sets the door position to cover half an inch of the frame, which simplifies planning reveals on standard overlay kitchen and bath cabinets. The 106 degree opening angle allows the door to swing wide enough for everyday cabinet access while staying controlled, which helps avoid doors contacting adjacent cabinets in typical runs. The hinge is part of the Silentia soft-close family, so it adds controlled closing to doors, which reduces slamming in high-use areas like kitchens, shops, or common rooms.

Soft Close Features That Support Cabinet Work

• The integrated soft close mechanism is built into the hinge, so you get controlled door closing at the hinge point, which helps protect door edges and face frames from impact over repeated use.
• The soft closing strength can be adjusted with the 2 cam adjustment design, so you can fine-tune door motion to match different door sizes and weights on the same run of cabinets.
• The soft close mechanism can be deactivated by an activation switch on the front of the unit, so you can quickly turn soft close off where lighter or specialty doors need a free-swing action.
• The activation switch is clearly visible on the front of the hinge, so adjustments can be made after installation without hunting for hidden controls in tight cabinet interiors.
• The hinge uses the Silentia Excentra design, so the decelerating mechanism works directly in the hinge arm, supporting smooth, predictable closing that feels consistent from door to door.

Dowel Mount Concealed Hinge Installation Details

This CUR37D9 hinge uses a dowel mount system, so the hinge seats into matching holes in the door, which speeds repetitive installs on multiple doors using line-boring equipment. The 11 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup depth applies across all hinges in this line, so once you set your boring depth and pattern, you can repeat it from cabinet to cabinet without changing tooling. The possible drilling distance on the door ranges from 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm, or 3/32 inch to 1/4 inch, so you have flexibility in setting the cup distance from the door edge to match different overlay requirements within the face-frame layout. The nickel plated steel hinge finish fits typical cabinet hardware aesthetics, so it blends visually with other nickel cabinet components when the door is open.

How This CUR37D9 Hinge Performs In Cabinet Builds

Where This 1/2 Inch Overlay Hinge Fits Best

This 1/2 inch overlay face-frame hinge is suited to cabinets where the door overlays the frame by half an inch, so it works well for common kitchen and bath layouts using standard overlays. The 106 degree opening angle serves everyday base and wall cabinet access, so doors can open comfortably without needing extreme swing that might interfere with adjacent appliances or cabinetry. The 11 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup depth keeps the hinge body shallow in the door, so you can work with a wide range of typical cabinet door thicknesses that accept this boring depth. The dowel mount configuration supports production-minded shops using boring machinery, so running multiple doors with consistent alignment becomes a repeatable operation. The integrated Silentia soft close function helps on jobs where quieter door closing is valued, such as residential kitchens or office break rooms.

Adjustment And Soft Close Control For Consistent Results

The 2 cam adjustment feature gives you two cam points for tuning, so you can adjust the hinge to refine door position and the behavior of the soft close mechanism, which reduces rework when aligning reveals. Because the soft closing strength can be altered through this 2 cam design, you can adapt closing speed to heavier or lighter doors, which helps maintain similar closing feel across a full cabinet run. The integrated soft close mechanism can be deactivated with the activation switch, so on certain doors you can disable the decelerating action while leaving neighboring doors active, which is useful in mixed-use cabinet banks. Having the activation switch clearly visible on the front of the hinge means you can walk a finished job, test door motion, and then adjust or deactivate soft close right at the hinge without removing doors. The consistent 11 mm cup depth and 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm drilling distance range allow repeatable boring setups, so hinge positioning and reveal control stay predictable from the first door to the last on a project.
