Salice Series CU Silentia hinge gives cabinet builders a 1-1/4 inch overlay, soft-close, concealed hinge solution for face-frame construction. As a concealed cabinet hinge in nickel plated steel, it keeps the hardware out of sight while providing a consistent overlay line across doors. The integrated decelerating mechanism on the hinge slows door travel, helping doors land gently against the frame in everyday use. Because the soft close mechanism can be deactivated by an activation switch on the front of the unit, you can match closing strength to door size or customer preference on site. The 106 degree opening angle allows doors to swing open widely for access while still controlling the arc in tighter kitchen or bath layouts. With an 11 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup depth used across the line, hinge cup drilling stays consistent from cabinet to cabinet, supporting repeatable boring setups.
This Salice soft close face frame hinge uses a dowel configuration designated in the description, so the connection between hinge cup and door relies on predrilled dowel holes during installation. That dowel-based mounting approach supports production drilling patterns and helps position each hinge consistently from door to door. With a possible drilling distance on the door from 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm, or 3/32 inch to 1/4 inch, the hinge allows flexibility in cup-to-edge placement when laying out different door designs. Those drilling distances let cabinetmakers adapt boring positions while still staying within the specified range, which helps balance strength at the hinge area and the desired overlay result. In everyday shop work, combining dowel mounting and defined drilling distances supports a predictable, repeatable hinge installation process across small or large runs.
This CUR3AD9R concealed cabinet hinge is part of the Salice Series CU line, so it is aimed at face-frame cabinetry needing a 1-1/4 inch overlay with soft-close control. In kitchens, baths, or built-ins using that overlay, the hinge lets doors cover the frame while keeping the hardware concealed. Because all hinges in the line share an 11 mm cup depth, a shop can run a single boring setup across doors that use different overlay sizes within the series. The dowel mounting called out in the description works with production drilling methods, so line borers or CNC setups can place dowels and cups in one pass. With a 106 degree opening, the hinge is suited to cabinets where a wide door swing is useful for access, yet the opening remains moderate enough for installations near corners or tall panels.
The integrated soft close mechanism on this Salice Silentia soft close hinge manages closing speed at the hinge, helping doors land quietly and reducing impact on the face frame over repeated use. When the soft close strength is not needed or a door is small and light, the activation switch on the front of the unit lets installers deactivate the feature, so the door can move freely. The three cam adjustment built into the hinge supports fine tuning in multiple directions at the hinge point, which helps align reveals and correct minor drilling variances without redrilling. Having a possible drilling distance from 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm on the door gives layout flexibility, making it easier to coordinate hinge placement with stile widths and desired overlay. Nickel plated steel construction ties the hinge finish to other nickel components in the project, helping create a unified hardware appearance across the cabinetry run.
This Salice Series CU Silentia hinge is described as a face-frame hinge, so it is used on cabinets built with a face-frame front where the door overlays the frame.
The hinge is specified as a 1-1/4 inch overlay, meaning the cabinet door covers 1-1/4 inches of the face frame, which helps create a fuller overlay look on the cabinet front.
The hinge uses a decelerating mechanism on the hinge to slow door travel, and an activation switch on the front of the unit lets the installer deactivate the soft close when desired.
The hinge provides a 106 degree opening angle, so doors swing open widely for cabinet access while the door arc remains controlled around adjacent components.
The hinge allows a possible drilling distance on the door from 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm, or 3/32 inch to 1/4 inch, giving flexibility in positioning the cup relative to the door edge.
The 11 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup depth indicates how deep to bore the hinge cup hole, allowing consistent setup for drilling across all hinges in the line.
Choosing the Salice soft close face frame hinge with 1-1/4 inch overlay and 3 cam adjustment aligns concealed hardware, overlay requirements, and closing behavior in one component. The combination of 106 degree opening, 11 mm cup depth, and dowel mounting supports both shop production and field installation. With the integrated soft close mechanism and front-facing activation switch, one hinge style can serve doors that need active deceleration and those that do not. For woodworking professionals sourcing through Wurth Baer Supply, this CUR3AD9R concealed hinge offers a defined set of mounting, drilling, and closing characteristics that can be repeated across projects.
