Salice Series CU Silentia hinge is a concealed cabinet hinge designed for face-frame applications that need a 1-1/4 inch overlay, giving cabinets a clean appearance while maintaining consistent door coverage. This hinge provides 106 degree opening, allowing doors to swing wide enough for comfortable access to cabinet interiors without overextending. The hinge is part of the Salice Series CU 3 cam adjustment line, so it offers three separate cam adjustments that help fine-tune door position, supporting even reveals and smoother alignment on installed runs. The hinge is a soft-close Silentia model, which means it incorporates an integrated decelerating mechanism on the hinge, helping doors close more controlled in everyday use. This decelerating mechanism can be easily deactivated by using the activation switch clearly visible on the front of the unit, so installers can adapt closing strength to the specific door size or cabinet layout on site.
This screw-on cabinet hinge uses a screw-on cup connection, so the hinge cup fastens directly to the door with screws, supporting straightforward mounting to prepared cup holes. The product is defined as a face-frame concealed hinge, which suits face-frame cabinet construction where a hidden hinge is preferred. The drilling distance on the door for this hinge can range from 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm (3/32 inch to 1/4 inch), giving flexibility in locating the hinge cup relative to the door edge so layouts can match existing boring patterns or design preferences. That drilling range applies across doors in the Salice Series CU Silentia line, which helps standardize jig setups when several hinges from the line are used on the same job.
This Salice Series CU 1-1/4 inch overlay face-frame hinge is intended for cabinets that need a larger overlay on the face frame, so it supports layouts where the door covers more of the frame for a more continuous front. As a concealed cabinet hinge, it mounts inside the cabinet and door, which hides the hardware and keeps the focus on the cabinet fronts in finished kitchens, baths, or built-ins. The 106 degree opening angle gives enough door swing for access to shelves while staying within limits that suit adjacent cabinets in typical runs, helping reduce interference with nearby doors or walls. Because the cup depth is 11 mm (7/16 inch) for all hinges in the line, door machining for this model aligns with the rest of the Salice Series CU hinges, which is useful when combining different overlays or hinge types in the same project.
The hinge is described as a 3 cam adjustment hinge, indicating three cam-based adjustments that help refine door position once the hinge is mounted, so small shifts can be made without reboring or repositioning the cup. This cam adjustment capability supports alignment across multiple doors, which is especially useful on long cabinet runs where reveals must stay even. The integrated soft close mechanism uses a decelerating mechanism on the hinge, slowing the last part of the door travel for more controlled closing in daily use. When needed, this decelerating mechanism can be easily deactivated via the activation switch on the front of the unit, so the same hinge can serve doors where softer or quicker closing is preferred. As a nickel plated steel hinge, the metal body with nickel plating ties visually with other nickel finished components in the project, which helps maintain a cohesive appearance in the cabinet interior and hardware layout.
The hinge is a concealed face-frame hinge, so it is intended for face-frame cabinet construction where the hinge is hidden inside the cabinet and door.
The hinge is specified as a 1-1/4 inch overlay hinge, so it positions the door to cover 1-1/4 inches of the face frame for that overlay layout.
The Salice CUP3AD9R hinge offers a 106 degree opening, which allows wide door swing for access while staying within a controlled arc.
The hinge allows a possible drilling distance on the door from 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm, or 3/32 inch to 1/4 inch, supporting different door layouts.
The hinge has a decelerating soft close mechanism that can be deactivated by using the activation switch clearly visible on the front of the unit.
The hinge uses an 11 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup depth, which keeps boring depth consistent across all hinges in this Salice Series CU line.
The Salice Series CU Silentia hinge CUP3AD9R combines 1-1/4 inch overlay, 106 degree opening, and an 11 mm cup depth, so it suits face-frame cabinets that need a larger overlay with consistent boring. Its integrated soft close mechanism, adjustable through the front activation switch, and its 3 cam adjustment support precise door alignment and tailored closing behavior on site. For projects matching this overlay and drilling pattern, this hinge offers a concealed, nickel plated option that aligns with other concealed cabinet hardware in the same installation.
