The Karran GR-1003 is a rectangular stainless steel sink grid made to fit the Karran 540 series sink, protecting the basin floor while keeping dishes and cookware lifted above standing water.
A sink grid works quietly in the background, but it does real work. Without one, pots, cast iron, and stoneware land directly on the basin floor with each wash, and the contact accumulates over time as fine abrasion and surface marks. The GR-1003 lifts everything off the floor so cookware weight and grit do not bear directly against the sink material. The open lattice also means water moves straight to the drain rather than pooling under dishes.
The grid is stainless steel, a practical match for both stainless and quartz-composite sinks in the 540 series line. Stainless holds up to soap, food acids, and hot water without corroding under normal kitchen conditions, and it cleans easily between uses. Because it is sized specifically for the 540 series, there are no gaps at the edges and no movement during use.
This grid fits naturally into a kitchen where the sink sees heavy daily use: rinsing produce, soaking pans, or stacking dishes between loads. The GR-1003 is designed specifically for 540 series Karran sinks. It is not a universal fit and may not seat correctly in other Karran series or bowl sizes.
Sink grids are typically fitted with rubber feet or bumpers to keep the grid off the basin surface. Verify the feet are in good condition and positioned correctly before use to keep the basin protected.
Rinse it under running water and wipe with a soft cloth. For buildup, mild dish soap and a non-abrasive pad work well. Avoid harsh steel wool, which can leave deposits on both the grid and the sink.
