Cabinet carcass construction typically stacks 3/4-inch panels, and joining them face-to-edge means the fastener must clear the first panel and bury its threads entirely in the second. At 2 inches, this ASSY screw does that in a single pass. It also handles drawer box corners assembled from 1/2-inch stock, where a shorter screw would under-penetrate and a longer one would blow through the opposite face. Frameless cabinet sides joined to a top or bottom panel, and nailer strips fastened inside a cabinet box, are both natural fits for this length.
