Hettich KA4620 16" Side Mount Over-Travel 200 lb Ball Bearing Drawer Slide, Zinc, 9019956

200 lb Over-Travel Drawer Slide Built for Heavy Loads Under Tight Overhangs

The Hettich KA 4620 is a 16 inch (400mm) side-mount ball bearing drawer slide rated 200 lb, with 1-1/2 inches of over-travel that pushes the drawer past full extension. When a countertop lip or deep face frame puts the rear of the drawer out of reach at full open, that extra travel closes the gap.

Key Features

• 200 lb weight capacity puts this slide well above the standard 100 lb cabinet class, handling genuinely heavy storage drawers.
• 1-1/2 inch over-travel carries the drawer member past the slide's nominal length so the full drawer interior clears countertop overhangs and deep face frames.
• Steel ball bearing construction delivers smooth, consistent travel on full-length raceways even under substantial load.
• Non-handed design means both slides in the pair are identical — no left/right sorting during layout or installation.
• Zinc finish on cold-formed steel provides standard indoor corrosion protection for years of service.
• Standard-motion slide — no closing mechanism, so the drawer stays wherever it is left until pushed or pulled.

Where the Over-Travel Pays Off

Most side-mount ball bearing slides stop at full extension — the drawer face aligns with the cabinet opening, and anything near the back requires reaching in. The KA 4620 travels an additional 1-1/2 inches past that point. Under a thick stone countertop, behind a deep face frame, or in a workshop drawer built into a base with a toe-kick overhang, that extra reach means the back corner of the drawer comes to you instead of the other way around. It also makes a meaningful difference in deep drawers loaded with tools, hardware, or heavy shop supplies, where digging around at the back of an almost-open drawer is a friction point every time.

At 200 lb capacity, the KA 4620 is sized for drawers that go well beyond a kitchen utensil load. Heavy-duty storage in a shop base cabinet, a mechanic's bench, or a commercial cabinet installation is this slide's natural territory.

Materials and Finish

The KA 4620 is built from cold-formed steel with a zinc finish. Zinc is the standard protective finish across side-mount ball bearing slides — it handles dry indoor environments reliably and keeps the slide functional without adding visual weight. On a slide that sits beside the drawer box, finish is a functional spec, not a decorative one. This slide is for interior, dry installations; it is not rated for wet, outdoor, or corrosive environments.

Who Reaches for the KA 4620

Cabinet shops and contractors specifying base cabinets under thick countertops will find the over-travel resolves the reach problem without any custom modification. Shop builders putting heavy drawers in bench bases get the 200 lb capacity and the full-clearance travel in one slide. Renovation contractors replacing undersized slides in an existing kitchen or office installation can step up to the KA 4620 where the original standard-class slide was always coming up short on either load or travel. The non-handed design simplifies ordering: one part number covers both sides of every drawer.

The Right Slide for Drawers That Demand More

When load capacity and over-travel both matter — heavy storage, tight overhangs, or shop-grade use — the Hettich KA 4620 delivers the reach and the rating in a straightforward side-mount package.
