The Salice Series F is a concealed self-close hinge engineered for inset doors built from thick stock, fitting both face-frame and frameless cabinets where a standard hinge cup would not seat correctly in the door.
An inset door sits inside the cabinet opening rather than over it, framed by a small even gap on every side. That application already demands tight tolerances. Pair it with a thick door built from solid stock or heavy slab material, and a standard concealed hinge is the wrong tool: the 35mm cup does not have the diameter or depth geometry to seat cleanly. The Series F solves that with a 40mm cup and 12mm cup depth, paired with a 52mm boring pattern sized to the thick-door bore. The 94 degree opening angle is the correct swing for a thick door clearing the cabinet front without binding, so the reduced angle here is a fit, not a shortcoming. The hinge arm clips to a Salice base plate mounted to the cabinet, ordered separately. Use Salice plates with this hinge; plates are brand-specific and will not connect across brands.
The hinge body is steel with a nickel finish. The screw-on mount fastens mechanically to the cabinet side or face-frame stile without relying on pre-drilled system holes, which makes it a practical choice when upgrading an existing cabinet or working on site-built casework. Height adjustment of plus or minus 2mm and side adjustment of plus 4.5mm to minus 1.5mm let you bring an inset door to an even reveal after the cabinet is in place.
This hinge suits cabinet shops, furniture makers, and millwork contractors specifying thick inset doors on face-frame or frameless boxes. It handles both construction types, so a shop running a mixed project does not need two separate SKUs. The inset geometry is specific to flush-fitted doors; for a thick door that overlays the cabinet side, a thick-door overlay hinge is the right pick. For doors in the standard 16 to 22mm range, a standard concealed hinge with a 35mm cup is the correct call.
A standard concealed hinge is designed around a 35mm cup bore. A thick door does not provide enough material behind a standard cup to seat it correctly, and the arm geometry does not clear the thicker door edge. The Series F uses a 40mm cup with a 52mm boring pattern sized to the thick-door application.
The reduced swing is intentional. A thick door needs a tighter opening arc to clear the cabinet front without collision. The 94 degree angle is the correct geometry for this door thickness, not a limitation.
Yes. The hinge arm connects to a Salice base plate that mounts to the cabinet, and the plate is sold separately. Use Salice plates; plates are not interchangeable across brands.
No. This is a self-close hinge: a spring pulls the door shut over the last few degrees of travel. It does not cushion or slow the close the way a soft-close damper does.
When the door is thick, the fit is flush, and the cabinet can be face-frame or frameless, the Series F delivers the cup geometry and arm clearance to complete the install correctly.
