This Rev-A-Shelf 4PILU pilaster system supplies the vertical strips that make adjustable shelf positioning possible inside a base or wall cabinet. Milled from natural maple, it brings a wood-tone finish to the interior of cabinets where metal hardware would read as out of place.
Fixed shelves lock a cabinet into one configuration forever. Pilaster strips routed or surface-mounted into the cabinet side walls let a shelf move up or down as stored items change. In a pantry cabinet, that means a shelf can drop to clear a tall jar or rise to stack more cans. In a base cabinet with a pull-out system, pilasters on the interior walls keep shelves repositionable without pulling the unit apart. Because this strip is natural maple, it reads as part of the cabinet rather than an added hardware element, which matters in finished interiors where the inside of the door or the exposed side of a cabinet is visible.

Installation method depends on the cabinet construction. The pilaster can be set into a routed dado for a flush finish or surface-mounted where the cabinet side wall allows it. The strip dimensions govern the required dado width and depth.
The natural maple finish is a warm wood tone. In a painted white interior, a white or metal pilaster from the same family may be a closer visual match. Use the maple version where a wood tone is acceptable or intended.
That depends on how many pilaster positions each cabinet uses. A standard two-sided adjustable shelf setup uses four strips per cabinet, so 20 pilasters supports five cabinets at that configuration. Layouts with additional pilaster positions will use more per cabinet.
