Omega National 42 Inch Range Hood Red Oak

42-Inch Red Oak Hood Shell for a Wide Cooktop Wall

This Omega National Omni wall mount range hood is a 42-inch-wide decorative red oak shell built to frame a wider cooktop run and integrate with the surrounding cabinetry. The Broan-compatible liner is included, ready to accept a Broan ventilation unit ordered separately to complete the installation.

Key Features

• 42-inch width and 42-inch height sized for wider cooktop walls and taller hood profiles.
• Red oak construction with an open, pronounced grain that takes stain and paint consistently.
• Omni series design brings a traditional wall-mount silhouette suited to transitional and classic kitchen styles.
• Ready-to-finish so the shell can be stained or painted to coordinate with the existing cabinetry finish.
• Broan-compatible liner included so the mechanical interface is in hand at delivery.
• Wall mount position installs against the wall above the cooktop surface.

Where a 42-Inch Shell Makes Sense

A 42-inch hood shell earns its place over a wider residential range, a 36-inch commercial-style cooktop with additional clearance, or a kitchen wall where the surrounding cabinet run calls for a proportionally larger hood to stay visually balanced. The extra width also gives the designer more room to carry trim details, corbels, or panel profiles across the hood face without crowding. At 42 inches tall, the shell has enough height to anchor the wall above a taller upper cabinet configuration or a ceiling with more vertical depth to fill. The Omni series wall-mount format keeps the hood body flush to the wall, reading as a natural extension of the cabinetry column rather than a freestanding appliance.

Red Oak and a Ready-to-Finish Surface

Red oak is a reliable finishing substrate. Its grain is open and pronounced, which means stain absorbs evenly across the face and the finished color reads consistently with other red oak cabinetry in the same kitchen. Because the shell ships ready-to-finish, it can be treated on-site to match the door style and finish already specified for the project. This matters most on custom and semi-custom jobs where the hood is expected to disappear into the cabinetry rather than stand apart as a separate element. The shell is not prefinished, so a finish step is required before the hood is considered complete.

Who Specifies This Shell

Cabinet shops and designers building out a wider kitchen wall will find the 42-inch format useful when the cooktop or range calls for extended coverage and the design calls for a traditional wall-mount profile. The included Broan-compatible liner removes one sourcing step: the structural interface between the wood shell and the ventilation unit arrives with the shell, so the project does not stall waiting on a separate liner order. The ventilation unit itself is selected and ordered separately based on the cooktop's BTU output and the room's airflow requirements. This shell suits interior kitchen installations; it is not rated for outdoor use.
