Full extension means the intermediate member carries the drawer completely past the cabinet face, not just most of the way. The hold-in anti-rebound detent is a mechanical catch, not a spring or damper — it holds the drawer closed and stops bounce-back, but the drawer opens freely with a normal pull. Hold-in anti-rebound is a mechanical detent: it holds the drawer shut and prevents bounce-back but does not slow or damp the closing motion. Soft-close uses a damper to decelerate the drawer over the last inch. This slide has the detent only — no damper, no spring pull.
It can, but face-frame cabinets need rear support for the back of the slide. Add the appropriate KV rear mounting brackets for the 8400 series, sold separately. The cabinet member installs against the face frame at the front; the bracket supports the rear. Without a bracket, the back of the slide hangs unsupported.
The 8400 series uses a lever disconnect. Extend the drawer fully, squeeze or actuate both disconnect levers, and pull the drawer member free of the cabinet member. No tools required.
Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening — the slide requires 1/2 inch of side clearance per side. The 8400 series carries a recommended maximum drawer width of 24 inches; confirm your opening stays within that limit before ordering.
