This Air-Pro BUF-021 power pack is the air-moving unit that installs inside a compatible wood hood shell, providing the blower, lighting, and filtration that clear smoke and cooking odors from the cooktop. The White powder-coat finish integrates cleanly into kitchen builds where the hood interior will be visible.
A decorative wood range hood shell provides the look but does not move air on its own. This power pack is the functional core: it mounts into a compatible hood liner and does the actual work of pulling smoke, steam, and grease-laden air up and out of the kitchen. Three blower speeds give the installer and homeowner real control, from a quiet low setting during light simmering to full 390 CFM output when the cooktop is running hard. The BTU ceiling of 40,000 covers a wide range of residential cooking situations, including most pro-style consumer ranges.
The White powder-coat finish is more than a color choice: in hood installations where the interior is at least partially visible, a finish that matches or coordinates with the surrounding cabinetry creates a cleaner result than a contrasting liner. The grease filter is dishwasher-safe, so maintenance is a routine chore rather than a hand-scrubbing job. Halogen task lighting is built into the unit, illuminating the cooking surface without a separate light fixture.
This power pack is specified for a wood hood installation that calls for a white or light-finish interior, whether the hood design leaves the liner visible through an open front or the designer simply wants the interior to match the surrounding palette. Cabinet shops finishing painted kitchens, designers specifying furniture-style hoods over high-BTU ranges, and installers pairing this unit with a compatible liner and shell will all find the BUF-021 WH a straightforward fit. The 17-1/2 by 11-13/16 inch cutout requirement and the 28-7/16 inch width govern the liner and shell selection, so confirm those dimensions against the hood before ordering.
No. This is the ventilator power pack only. The decorative wood shell and any liner are separate products selected to match your hood design and this unit's dimensions.
The structured product attributes list 390 CFM on high, 290 CFM on medium, and 180 CFM on low. The 350 CFM figure in the product name appears to reflect a nominal or average rating. The per-speed figures from the attributes are the values to use for sizing.
It is rated for cooktops up to 40,000 BTU. For cooktops above that output, confirm that the airflow capacity meets the ventilation requirement before specifying this unit.
The filter is dishwasher-safe and can be cleaned in a standard dishwasher cycle.
When the hood design calls for a light, coordinated interior finish, the BUF-021 in White powder coat delivers the blower, lighting, and filtration a wood hood needs without the visual contrast of a darker liner.
