Air-Pro (Formerly Fujioh) Power Packs, BUF-021 Series 350 CFM Blower, Halogen Lighting and Dishwasher-Safe Filter, Black - AIR-PRO 021 BK

A Black Powder-Coat Ventilator Built for Dark-Finish Hood Interiors

This Air-Pro BUF-021 power pack is a mechanically complete ventilation unit that installs inside a compatible wood hood shell, delivering blower performance, task lighting, and filtration in a Black powder-coat finish that disappears inside dark-interior hoods.

Key Features

• Black powder-coat finish is purpose-suited for wood hoods with dark or painted interiors where a silver or stainless unit would show.
• Three blower speeds move 390 CFM on high, 290 CFM on medium, and 180 CFM on low for matched output at every heat level.
• Rated for cooktops up to 40,000 BTU, covering most residential ranges and mid-range commercial-style cooktops.
• Integrated halogen lighting puts direct task light on the cooking surface.
• Dishwasher-safe, silicon-coated filter resists oily buildup and cleans in a normal dishwasher cycle.
• Noise rating of 7 sones at high speed.

Where the Black Finish Matters

Most hood installations never notice finish on the ventilator, but hoods with black-painted interiors, dark-stained wood liners, or matte black design schemes expose the unit's face enough that a mismatched finish pulls against the design intent. The Black powder-coat on this unit keeps the mechanical components visually consistent with the hood interior. For hoods specced in a dark palette, or for a kitchen that carries matte black hardware throughout, this finish coordinates where a stainless or silver unit would not.

Blower, Filter, and Light in One Unit

A wood hood shell frames the cooktop, but it needs this power pack to actually move air. The BUF-021 houses the centrifugal blower, the halogen task light, and the filter as a single self-contained unit. Three speeds let the output scale from background ventilation on a low simmer to full draw on a high-heat cook. The silicon-coated filter is designed to shed oily residue, making routine cleanup a dishwasher load rather than a scrubbing task.

Specifying This Unit for the Right Installation

The BUF-021 is the right choice when the hood installation pairs a wood shell with a power pack sized for residential or mid-range professional cooking. The 40,000 BTU ceiling covers most gas and induction ranges found in high-end residential kitchens. The unit dimensions are 28-7/16 inches wide by 18-3/16 inches deep, with a required cutout of 17-1/2 by 11-13/16 inches. Cabinet shops, designers specifying a custom hood build, and contractors sourcing for an install should confirm that the shell and liner are compatible with the BUF-021 before the order is placed. For cooktops that exceed 40,000 BTU, a higher-capacity unit is the correct selection.

Common Questions

Ventilation That Fits the Finish

When the hood design calls for a dark interior, this Black powder-coat power pack puts the right finish behind the wood shell without asking the design to compromise on ventilation performance.
