This Salice Series 200 hinge is built for thick cabinet doors that need a wider-than-standard swing, hanging them at a 1/2 inch overlay on both face-frame and frameless cabinets with a self-close spring mechanism.
A standard concealed hinge is engineered for doors in the 16 to 22mm range and opens to 110 degrees in everyday use. When the door is thicker than that window or the application calls for a much wider swing, you need different geometry, and that is exactly what this hinge delivers. The 155 degree opening angle lets the door swing almost parallel to the cabinet side, which is valuable at corners, on appliance garages, and anywhere the contents of a deep cabinet need to be fully accessible. The thick-door cup seating and arm dimensions handle the added door mass without the cup perforating the face or the arm binding on closure. The 35mm cup bores into the door and the arm connects to a Salice base plate mounted to the cabinet, ordered separately. Plate selection should match your cabinet construction, face-frame or frameless, and the desired overlay position.
The hinge is plated steel finished in nickel. Screw-on mounting means the arm fastens to the plate with screws rather than a tool-free clip, which gives a fixed connection suited to the added door weight a thick-door hinge is designed to carry. Post-install adjustment is available: height adjusts plus or minus 2mm and side adjusts plus 4.5mm or minus 1.5mm, letting you dial in an even reveal across a run of doors after the cabinet is set.
Reach for this hinge when the build specifies a thick door and the design calls for maximum swing clearance, such as a corner cabinet where a door that opens to only 110 degrees would block access to half the interior. The 1/2 inch overlay and half crank also make it the right pick for pairs of doors meeting on a shared center partition, where full-overlay geometry would put two arms in collision. Cabinet shops building thick-door frameless boxes and face-frame contractors working with heavier raised-panel doors are the natural fit. Because this is a self-close hinge, the spring closes the door on its own, but there is no damper cushioning the final contact. If the project calls for a quiet, slam-free close on a thick door, look to the Silentia+ soft-close version in this series instead.
Standard concealed hinges are sized for doors roughly 16 to 22mm thick. A thick-door hinge like this one is designed for doors that exceed that range. If your door falls within the standard window, a standard Series 200 hinge is the better fit.
This SKU is self-close only. For a damped, quiet close at wide opening angles, check the Silentia+ soft-close variants in the Salice Series 200 line.
Yes. The hinge arm connects to a Salice base plate that mounts to the cabinet, and the plate is a separate purchase. Use Salice plates only; plates are brand-specific and will not connect across brands.
Yes. The half crank arm is the geometry for partial-overlay doors, including pairs of doors that each overlap about half an inch on a single center partition.
When a thick door needs to open wide and close on its own, this hinge is the specific tool for that job, on either cabinet type, at a working overlay that handles shared partitions too.
