This Salice Series 200 hinge is built for thick cabinet doors, delivering a 155 degree opening arc and a self-close spring on doors set to a 1/2 inch overlay, on both face-frame and frameless cabinets.
Standard concealed hinges are engineered for doors in the 16 to 22mm thickness range. When a door runs thicker than that, the standard cup will not seat correctly and the arm geometry throws the overlay off. This hinge is purpose-built for those heavier fronts, with a modified cup depth and arm proportions that bring a thick door to a clean 1/2 inch overlay. The 155 degree arc is the widest opening angle available on a Salice hinge with a self-close mechanism, so it suits applications where full interior reach is a design requirement, not just a convenience. The 35mm cup bores into the door and the arm clips to a Salice base plate on the cabinet, ordered separately. Use Salice plates only; plates are brand-specific and will not connect across brands.
The hinge is plated steel in a nickel finish. The dowel mount on the door side is the detail that matters for production shops: no cup screws to drive, just press the pre-mounted dowels into the bored holes and the hinge registers instantly. The self-close spring is integrated into the hinge body, so there is no add-on damper or separate mechanism to source. Height adjustment of plus or minus 2mm and side adjustment of plus 4.5mm and minus 1.5mm let you dial in the reveal after the cabinet is set.
Cabinet shops running CNC equipment will find the dowel mount the fastest path through production, since the door-side boring is done in the same pass as the cup. Designers specifying furniture-weight panels or thicker overlay doors on both face-frame and frameless boxes will use this to hit a 1/2 inch overlap cleanly without adapting a standard hinge to a job it was not sized for. It is not the hinge for standard-thickness doors, and it is not a soft-close hinge. For a damped, cushioned close on a thick door, look to the Silentia+ soft-close version of this series.
Yes. The hinge arm connects to a Salice base plate that mounts to the cabinet, and that plate is sold separately. Match the plate to your cabinet construction and the overlay position you need.
A standard concealed hinge is sized for doors roughly 16 to 22mm thick. A thick door hinge has a modified cup depth and arm geometry so it seats and positions correctly in doors that run heavier than that range.
No. This is a self-close hinge, meaning a spring pulls the door shut over the last few degrees. It does not cushion the close. Soft-close is not available at 155 degrees on this series. For a damped close, check the Silentia+ version of the Series 200 line at a narrower opening angle.
The cup carries pre-attached dowels that press into bored holes in the door, with no cup screws to drive. It is the preferred method in CNC and production environments where the door-side boring is done on the machine before assembly.
Specify this hinge when the door is too heavy for a standard cup and the design calls for a near-flat 155 degree swing with a self-close finish on either cabinet construction.
