This Salice Series 200 hinge is engineered for thick cabinet doors installed at a flush inset position, covering both face-frame and frameless cabinet construction. Its 94 degree opening angle and full-crank arm geometry are sized specifically for the geometry thick inset doors require.
A thick door is a different problem than a standard door. The extra material pushes the door face forward, and without geometry designed for it, the door edge collides with the cabinet front as it swings. The 94 degree opening on this hinge is not a restriction — it is the engineered limit that lets the thick door clear the opening cleanly. Pair that with the inset position, where the door sits inside the opening rather than over it, and precise fit is the whole game. This hinge handles both in one part. The 35mm cup bores into the door, and the arm connects to a Salice base plate mounted to the cabinet, ordered separately.
The hinge is plated steel in a nickel finish. Dowel mounting drives the cup into pre-bored 8mm dowel holes in the door without cup screws, which speeds production and keeps the cup seated consistently from door to door. Height and side adjustment stay accessible after the door is hung, so an even reveal across a run of inset doors is a matter of dialing in rather than refitting.
This hinge suits shops doing any volume of thick inset doors on face-frame or frameless cabinets. CNC-bored doors drop straight onto the dowels for repeatable positioning. Custom builders working one piece at a time get the same advantage: no cup screws to seat, and adjustment that holds the reveal once it is set. For standard-thickness doors, a standard concealed hinge is the better fit. For thick doors at a full overlay position, a different arm geometry is needed. This hinge is specifically for thick inset.
The reduced swing is intentional. A thick door extends farther into the opening arc than a standard door, so the hinge limits travel to the angle at which the door clears the cabinet front without hitting it. The 94 degree limit is the correct engineering for this application, not a shortcoming.
Inset means the door sits flush inside the cabinet opening with a reveal around all four edges. Full overlay means the door covers the cabinet side or frame face. This hinge is for inset only. For thick doors at a full overlay position, a different arm crank is required.
Yes. The hinge body bores into the door, and the arm connects to a Salice base plate that mounts to the cabinet. The plate is sold separately. Use a Salice plate matched to your cabinet construction — plates are not interchangeable across brands.
No. It is a self-close hinge: a spring pulls the door shut over the last few degrees of travel. It does not cushion or slow the close the way a damped soft-close hinge does. For a quieter, damped close, look for the Silentia+ version in this series.
Specify this hinge when the project calls for thick doors at a flush inset position, and the install needs to go in fast and stay square.
