The Fulterer 5527 is a 12 inch side-mount bracket for the Fulterer 5400 series drawer slide program — the dedicated rear support that anchors the back of a slide when the cabinet construction demands it.
Side-mount slides require a solid connection at the back of the cabinet as well as the front. In face-frame cabinet construction, the cabinet side is set back from the face frame, leaving the rear of the slide without a direct mounting surface. This bracket closes that gap, giving the 5400 series slide a firm rear anchor point. Without it, the slide can flex or rack under load, shortening its service life and degrading drawer feel. Even in frameless installations where the panel is accessible, a dedicated rear bracket is the cleaner solution than field-fabricating a mount.
The bracket is steel with a zinc finish — the standard corrosion-resistant finish for indoor cabinetry hardware. It is designed for dry, interior installations; this is not rated hardware for wet or outdoor environments. The non-handed profile simplifies ordering when outfitting a run of cabinets: the same part number covers both sides, so there is no risk of pulling a mismatched pair from the bin.
Cabinet shops running Fulterer 5400 series slides will stock this bracket whenever face-frame construction is in the mix. Installers retrofitting 5400 series slides into existing face-frame casework reach for it to solve the rear-mount problem cleanly. It is also a practical reorder for service work when a worn or damaged bracket needs replacement without pulling the whole slide.
The 5527 is matched to the 5400 series. Fulterer brackets and slides are series-specific; do not assume this bracket fits other Fulterer programs without confirming compatibility with that series' installation hardware.
The SAP description references a bracket set; confirm the pack contents on the product listing before ordering to ensure you receive the quantity needed for your installation.
In frameless construction the slide typically mounts directly to the flat cabinet side panel, so a rear bracket may not be required. Check the 5400 series installation instructions to confirm whether a bracket is called for in your specific application.
The non-handed design means a single part number works for both the left and right side, but you still need one bracket per side — order two for each drawer.
A missing rear bracket is one of the most common causes of a second shipment on a drawer slide order. Having the 5527 on hand before the install starts keeps the job moving without a delay.
