This United Plastics rubber extrusion is a stapled-type glass panel retainer, supplied on a 100-foot roll in a warm Fruitwood color. It holds glass and panel inserts securely in cabinet door frames where no groove has been machined.
Cabinet frames come two ways: machined with a groove to accept a seated retainer strip, and frames that are not. When there is no groove, stapled retainer is the answer. Rather than depending on a channel to grip it, the strip is fastened directly through itself into the frame, which means it works on shop-built frames, retrofits, and any door where cutting a groove was not part of the plan. Grooved retainer cannot substitute here, and this stapled strip cannot substitute for grooved. The frame's construction determines which type belongs on the job.
Fruitwood is a color name, not a wood species. It describes the warm mid-brown of the extrusion, chosen to sit quietly in the sight line behind the glass on a stained wood frame. On a stapled installation the strip remains visible from the interior of the door, so color read against the frame matters more than it does in a grooved application where the retainer is tucked away. The extrusion is rubber throughout.
The 100-foot length suits a remodeler glazing a run of cabinet doors, a custom shop building frames without a groove-cutting step in the workflow, or a finish carpenter retrofitting glass into existing door frames. For continuous production, a 500-foot roll is available. Because profile dimensions and panel thickness compatibility are not published for this product, confirm the extrusion fits your specific frame opening before ordering.
No. Grooved and stapled retainer are made for different frame types. Grooved retainer seats in a machined channel; this strip is fastened through itself and is for frames without one.
Neither. Fruitwood is the color name for this extrusion, a warm brown selected to blend against stained wood frames.
Panel thickness and profile dimensions are not published for this product. Confirm compatibility with your frame and panel before ordering.
100 feet.
Order this roll when the frame calls for stapled retainer and the color needs to sit quietly against natural wood.
