The Sugatsune ESR-DC4513 Series is a 28 inch full-extension side-mount ball bearing drawer slide built from stainless steel, rated 68 lb per pair, with an integrated soft-close damper. It is designed for installations where corrosion resistance, cleanliness, and quiet closing all matter — from commercial food service and medical casework to marine cabinetry and high-humidity residential applications.
In most cabinetry, a zinc-finished slide performs reliably for years. In wet, washdown, or chemically active environments, zinc corrodes and the slide fails. A stainless steel slide in the same mounting footprint sidesteps that problem entirely. The ESR-DC4513 suits commercial kitchen prep areas, bar and hospitality cabinetry, laboratory and medical casework, boat and marine interiors, and any residential installation — a laundry room, garage, or outdoor kitchen — where moisture is a regular presence rather than an occasional accident. The soft-close feature is particularly useful in these environments because damped closing reduces impact stress on the drawer box and front hardware, extending the life of the assembly over years of hard use.
The slide members are stainless steel, a material chosen specifically for its corrosion resistance in demanding conditions. Steel ball bearings in full-length raceways deliver smooth, consistent travel under load. The integrated soft-close module is part of the slide assembly — not an add-on — so damped closing is available from the first installation without retrofitting. The stainless finish is a functional, industrial-grade surface: it is not decorative chrome and is not intended to show beside polished hardware.
This is the right slide when the environment rules out standard zinc finishes and the drawer still needs full extension and quiet closing. Commercial fabricators specifying drawers for food service, healthcare, or marine interiors will find the 28 inch length covers most standard drawer depths in those markets. Cabinet shops building residential laundry, garage, or outdoor cabinetry get the same corrosion resistance in a familiar side-mount format. At 68 lb per pair, the load rating suits equipment and supply drawers rather than the heaviest industrial pulls — if the drawer carries extreme loads, confirm the rating fits before ordering.
In a dry, indoor residential kitchen, a zinc-finished slide performs well and costs less. Stainless becomes the right choice when the drawer is near a sink, in a laundry or utility room, in an outdoor kitchen enclosure, or anywhere regular moisture or cleaning chemicals are present.
The slide requires 1/2 inch of clearance between the drawer box side and the cabinet interior on each side, so the drawer box should be built 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening.
No. The soft-close damper only engages near the end of the closing stroke. The slide is full extension, so the drawer opens completely to the cabinet face regardless.
Side-mount slides need support at the back of the cabinet in face-frame construction. Add compatible rear mounting brackets for face-frame installations — brackets are series-specific and sold separately.
No. The ESR-DC4513 is non-handed, so both slides in the pair are the same part. One pair completes one drawer.
When the environment demands corrosion resistance and the drawer still needs to close quietly and open fully, the Sugatsune ESR-DC4513 Series delivers all three in a familiar side-mount format — one pair per drawer, ready for the conditions zinc-finished slides are not.
