Omega National Wood Range Hood 30X42 Alder

Alder Wood Hood Shell for a Finished, Built-In Kitchen Look

This Omega National Omni series wall mount range hood is a 30-inch-wide decorative alder wood shell that brings warmth and continuity to the cabinetry above the cooktop. It ships with a Broan-compatible liner included and arrives ready to finish so it can be stained or painted to coordinate with the surrounding kitchen.

Key Features

• Alder wood construction gives the hood a consistent, close-grained surface that accepts stain or paint evenly.
• 30 inches wide by 42 inches tall for a proportional fit over standard residential cooktops in this width class.
• Broan-compatible liner included so the shell is ready to accept a compatible Broan ventilator, purchased separately.
• Ready-to-finish surface means the installer or finisher applies the stain, paint, or clear coat after delivery to match the kitchen exactly.
• Wall mount position for installation against a wall above the range or cooktop.
• Omni series design from Omega National, a dedicated wood hood line built to coordinate with kitchen cabinetry.

Where This Shell Works

Alder is a practical choice for kitchens that want a natural wood hood without a heavy grain pattern. Its tight, relatively uniform surface takes stain predictably, making it easier to match an existing finish than open-grain species like red oak. The 30-inch width suits single-run cooktop configurations where the hood spans a standard residential range. At 42 inches tall, the shell has the vertical presence to read as a design element on the wall rather than a tucked-in afterthought.

This shell is the woodwork. It does not move air on its own. It frames the cooktop and provides the enclosure into which a Broan ventilator is installed. Because the liner is included, the gap between the wood shell and the mechanical unit is already bridged, so the ventilator can be specified and ordered separately without hunting for a compatible liner.

Finishing and the Alder Advantage

The shell arrives unfinished, which is the point. A pre-finished hood limits the installer to one color and one sheen; a ready-to-finish shell can be matched to the door finish applied in the shop, so the hood reads as a natural extension of the cabinetry rather than a close-but-not-quite approximation. Alder holds paint well and accepts most oil-based and water-based stains cleanly, which makes it a reliable substrate for shops that finish their own cabinet doors and want the hood to match.

Who Specifies This Hood

Cabinet shops finishing a full kitchen build appreciate this shell when the client wants a wood hood that disappears into the cabinetry. The ready-to-finish state means the hood goes through the same finishing pass as the doors, and the species can be specified to match the rest of the job. Designers working on transitional or casual-style kitchens where alder is already the primary species will find the Omni profile a natural fit. Contractors sourcing for a renovation where the existing cabinetry is alder or a close-grained painted finish will find the surface easy to match.

A Wood Hood That Finishes With the Rest of the Kitchen

When the goal is a range hood that looks like part of the cabinetry rather than an appliance in front of it, this alder Omni shell gives the finishing team the right substrate, the right proportions, and a liner already matched to Broan ventilation.
