Omega National 36 Inch Alder Omni Wall Mount Range Hood

36-Inch Alder Hood Shell for Wall Mount Installations

This Omega National Omni series range hood is a decorative alder wood shell designed to wall-mount above a cooktop and accept a compatible Broan ventilation insert. At 36 inches wide and 42 inches tall, it is sized for a substantial kitchen run and arrives ready to finish so it can be stained or painted to coordinate with the surrounding cabinetry.

Key Features

• Alder wood construction in the Omni series, offered unfinished for a custom stain or paint application.
• 36 inches wide by 42 inches tall, suited to wider cooktop runs and taller wall configurations.
• Wall-mount design installs against the wall above the range rather than attaching to adjacent cabinetry.
• Broan compatible liner included so the ventilation unit can be seated without a separate liner purchase.
• Ready to finish so the species and grain of the alder are visible and can be matched to the kitchen's finish system.

A Wood Shell Built for a Wider Cooktop Run

The 36-inch width of this shell accommodates a broader cooktop footprint, which is common in kitchens with 36-inch ranges or dual-fuel configurations. At 42 inches tall, there is enough vertical presence to anchor the wall above the range without disappearing into the upper cabinet line. Because this is the decorative shell, it frames and encloses the cooking zone. The Broan compatible liner that ships with it is the seat for the ventilation unit that actually moves the air, ordered separately to match the cooktop's output and the room's duct configuration.

Alder, Unfinished, Ready for the Shop

Alder is a tight-grained hardwood that takes stain evenly and is a practical choice when a consistent, smooth finish is the goal. Because this shell arrives unfinished, the finishing step happens in the shop or on-site, which lets the color be dialed in to match painted or stained cabinetry rather than approximating it with a factory finish. The Omni series keeps the profile clean so the hood reads as a natural extension of the surrounding cabinet run rather than an appliance bolted to the wall.

Where This Hood Fits Best

Cabinet shops and finish carpenters who are specifying a custom kitchen with a 36-inch cooktop will find the dimensions and species a straightforward match. Designers working on a project where the hood needs to be color-matched or grain-matched to the rest of the millwork benefit from the unfinished alder, since the wood accepts both pigmented and transparent finish systems well. Homeowners tackling a renovation who want a wood hood that doesn't carry a pre-applied finish they cannot change have the same advantage. Because this is a wall-mount shell, it suits a run where the hood stands free against the wall rather than tucking between tall cabinets on either side.

Common Questions

The Right Shell When the Finish Is Still to Come

This 36-inch alder Omni hood shell gives a wall-mount installation the wood presence it needs, with the finishing left open so the color, sheen, and character of the hood can be decided alongside the rest of the kitchen rather than before it.
