This is the left-hand front locking device for Blum's TANDEM 563 and 569 series undermount drawer slides, securing the drawer box to the slide at the front with up to 3mm of height adjustment built in.
The front locking device is what holds an undermount drawer onto its slides. On a TANDEM installation, one left-hand and one right-hand device snap under the drawer box front and lock it to the slide members — without them, the drawer box simply will not seat. This part covers the left side of that connection.
The most common need for this device is completing a new TANDEM slide installation where locking devices were not included with the slides, or replacing a damaged clip on a working drawer without pulling the slides themselves. It also shows up in production runs where locking devices are ordered separately in volume to match the shop's kitting process.
The device is molded from engineering-grade plastic to the dimensional tolerances the TANDEM system requires. The fit at the slide receiver is precise — a locking device from another series or brand will not seat correctly on a TANDEM slide. The 3mm height adjustment range is dialed in at the locking device itself, so front-to-front alignment across a bank of drawers can be tuned without shimming or repositioning the slides.
TANDEM locking devices are handed, so this left-hand device pairs with a separate right-hand version to make one complete front connection. Both are needed for every drawer. If you are building or servicing a bank of drawers, order one of each hand per drawer. This is a standard-height-adjustment device; Blum also offers locking devices with greater adjustment range and integrated front-fixing options for specific TANDEM configurations — confirm the version your slide and drawer setup requires before ordering.
No. TANDEM locking devices are engineered specifically for the 563 and 569 slide families. MOVENTO, LEGRABOX, MERIVOBOX, and TANDEMBOX systems each use their own series-specific front fixings that are not interchangeable with this part.
No. The left-hand and right-hand devices are mirror images of each other, shaped for their respective sides. Two of the same hand will not seat correctly on both slides.
The built-in adjustment range is 3mm, enough to align a drawer front that is slightly high or low relative to its neighbors after the box is installed.
Both. It seats the same way whether you are completing a fresh TANDEM installation or swapping out a damaged device on an existing drawer.
One left-hand locking device is the last piece that locks the drawer onto a TANDEM slide — a small part with a direct effect on how every drawer in the cabinet performs.
