Omega National 30 Inch Verona Range Hood Alder

Alder Character And Broan-Ready Fit

The Omega National Verona is a 30-inch wide, 36-inch tall decorative wood range hood shell in alder, designed to wall-mount above a cooktop and accept a compatible Broan ventilation unit. The shell ships ready-to-finish so the species and grain of the alder can be brought out with the stain or paint of your choice.

Key Features

• Alder wood construction delivers a tight, consistent grain that takes stain evenly and coordinates naturally with painted or stained cabinetry.
• Verona series styling offers a distinctive wall-mount profile in the Omega National lineup.
• 30 inches wide by 36 inches tall sized for standard cooktop runs where a full 36-inch hood is not required.
• 19-inch depth provides a substantial hood presence over the range.
• Broan-compatible liner included so the shell arrives ready to accept a Broan ventilation unit, ordered separately.
• Ready-to-finish surface accepts stain, paint, or a clear coat to match the surrounding kitchen.

How Alder Works in This Application

Alder is a popular choice for kitchen cabinetry and hood shells because it machines cleanly, holds detail well, and accepts stain more uniformly than open-grain species like oak. In the Verona shell, that consistency matters at the hood scale: a 30-by-36-inch panel is a prominent surface, and alder's fine, closed grain means stain absorbs evenly across the face rather than blotching at varying densities. For a painted finish, alder primes and paints smoothly. Either way, the shell arrives unfinished so the finishing system, whether a matching stain to coordinate with the cabinet doors or a contrasting painted treatment, is applied on site after installation.

The Shell, the Liner, and the Ventilator

This product is the decorative wood enclosure and the included Broan-compatible liner. The liner seats inside the shell and provides the housing that a Broan ventilation unit mounts into. The ventilator, the component that actually moves air above the cooktop, is a separate purchase and is selected to match the cooktop output and the duct configuration. Because the liner ships with the shell, the two major structural pieces of the hood assembly arrive together; only the ventilation unit needs to be sourced separately. Wall-mount installation positions the hood against the wall above the range.

Where This Hood Fits Best

The Verona in 30-inch alder suits a kitchen where the cooktop run calls for a 30-inch hood rather than a wider unit, and where the design calls for wood rather than a stainless appliance hood. It works equally well in a transitional kitchen where alder's neutral grain reads alongside painted Shaker doors, or in a more traditional space where a stained-to-match hood integrates with full-overlay wood cabinetry. Cabinet shops and designers specifying a custom hood wall will find the included liner reduces the component count at ordering time.
