Omega National 42 Inch Verona Range Hood Alder

An Alder Wood Hood Shell Built for the Wall, Ready for Your Finish

The Omega National Verona is a 42-inch-wide decorative wood range hood shell in alder, designed for wall-mount installation above a cooktop. It ships with a Broan-compatible liner included so the ventilation side of the project has a clear path forward.

Key Features

• Alder wood construction with a clear, unfinished surface ready to accept stain or paint to match the kitchen.
• 42 inches wide by 36 inches tall with a 19-inch depth for a substantial presence over the range.
• Verona series design brings a refined wall-hood silhouette suited to transitional and traditional kitchens.
• Wall-mount configuration installs against the wall above the cooking surface.
• Broan-compatible liner included to house a compatible Broan ventilation unit, purchased separately.

Where This Hood Fits in the Kitchen

This shell is the decorative woodwork above the range, not the ventilation hardware itself. It gives the cooktop zone a finished, furniture-quality focal point that reads as part of the cabinetry rather than an appliance bolted to the wall. The Verona's proportions work well in kitchens where the hood is intended to anchor the room: 42 inches of width commands attention over a standard range, and the 36-inch height gives the shell enough visual mass to hold its own against taller upper cabinets or a tile backsplash running to the ceiling.

Because it is unfinished alder, the shell can be stained to coordinate with cherry or walnut tones, painted to match white or gray cabinetry, or finished in any custom color the project calls for. Alder takes stain evenly and is a practical choice when a warm, medium-toned wood look is the goal without the cost of cherry.

Construction and Finish Preparation

Alder is a close-grained hardwood that finishes cleanly with either stain or paint. This shell arrives unfinished so the finish can be applied on-site or in the shop to achieve an exact match to surrounding cabinets. The surface is clear-grade, meaning it is selected to minimize visible defects and present a consistent face for finishing. Standard preparation steps apply: light sanding, a compatible primer or conditioner if painting, and the finish system of choice.

Who Orders This Shell and How It Gets Installed

Cabinet shops specify this hood when a client wants a custom-finished wood hood that integrates with the cabinet design rather than contrasting with it. Designers select it when the kitchen calls for a transitional or traditional focal point that can be matched precisely to a painted or stained cabinet color. The included liner is the bridge between the decorative shell and the Broan ventilation unit: the liner seats inside the shell, and the Broan ventilator drops into the liner. The ventilation unit itself is a separate purchase, sized to the cooktop and the room. Wall-mount installation means the shell attaches to the wall structure above the range, not to adjacent cabinets.
