Omega National 48 Inch Red Oak Verona Wall Hood

A Decorative Wood Hood Shell For Wide Kitchen Runs

The Omega National Verona is a wall-mount red oak range hood shell sized for 48-inch wide installations. It is the decorative wood enclosure above the cooktop, supplied ready-to-finish with a Broan-compatible liner included so the path from rough opening to finished hood is straightforward.

Key Features

• 48-inch width and 36-inch height makes this shell the right fit for wide cooktop runs and larger kitchen layouts.
• Solid red oak construction provides natural grain character that takes stain or paint well.
• Ready-to-finish so the hood can be stained, painted, or sealed to coordinate with the surrounding cabinetry.
• Broan-compatible liner included, bridging the shell to a compatible Broan ventilation insert ordered separately.
• Wall-mount position designed to anchor against the wall above the cooking surface.
• 19-inch depth provides coverage over the cooktop without projecting excessively into the room.

Where a 48-Inch Shell Earns Its Place

A 48-inch hood shell belongs in a kitchen where the cooktop, the island, or the design calls for a wide statement above the range. Wide professional-style ranges and 48-inch cooktops often need a hood that matches their footprint, and this Verona shell fills that role. The wall-mount orientation keeps the unit anchored to the back wall rather than suspended from the ceiling, which suits a standard kitchen layout without requiring a soffit or ceiling-mount structure. At 36 inches tall and 19 inches deep, the proportions are substantial enough to read as a focal point while keeping the hood within a practical depth envelope.

Red Oak, Unfinished and Ready to Match

Red oak is chosen here because its open grain and warm tone accept stain readily, making it easier to blend the hood into a kitchen that already has a defined wood tone or finish system. The shell ships ready-to-finish, which means the finishing step happens on-site or in the shop after delivery, not at the factory. That approach gives a designer, cabinet shop, or finisher direct control over the final color and sheen so the hood matches the cabinet doors and trim rather than approximating them. For paint-grade applications, red oak works well under a painted finish too, though the grain will remain visible under thinner coats.

Who Specifies This Shell and How It Installs

Cabinet shops building custom kitchens around wide ranges specify this shell when the client wants wood construction with a finished-in-place look. Designers working on whole-kitchen packages use it to bring the hood into the cabinetry family rather than leaving it as a separate stainless appliance. Because the liner is included and sized for Broan ventilation, the mechanical portion of the install is already accounted for in the shell selection: choose the Broan ventilation insert separately to suit the cooktop output, drop it into the liner, and the assembly reads as one coordinated unit. The ventilation insert is not included and is ordered to match the cooktop's requirements.
