At 1-1/2", this screw reaches through a 3/4" panel face and buries well into a mating panel edge or stile, giving solid thread engagement without breaking through the back of standard cabinet stock. It also handles two-layer joints common in drawer box construction and cabinet back attachment. The sharp point starts cleanly in particleboard, MDF, and melamine-faced panels, which make up the majority of production cabinet work. Where face-frame members are softwood or pine, the coarse turbo thread bites quickly and the lubricated shank keeps torque manageable even through a full shift of repetitive driving.
