Most assembly screws are sized for 3/4" or thicker substrate, which means anything shorter than that calls for a purpose-matched fastener. At 3/4", this screw is the right tool when you are fastening into thin panel goods, securing hardware mounting strips, attaching cabinet backs to shallow ledgers, or joining components where a standard 1" or longer screw would push through the material face.
